@KingBobCat Its not a mediocre score. At least not the way tom looks at it. you're thinking grades. Tom is using all 20 points in his scale. Think of it like a percentage not a grade. this game is in the top 25%

@UnwantedSpam @SuddenTragedy ST's list of improvements adds up to frosting. When are we gonna get some moist, delicious cake?

@moe050 Why expect a completely revamped/changed product? Because its a sequel. I would like to enter into evidence Mass Effect Trilogy. Mass Effect had an awful 6 wheel tank and repetitive dungeons. Mass Effect 2 fixed those problems. ETC ETC. Feel and Play were similar but problems were solved. Oblivion, then Skyrim. NBA2k10 then NBA 2k12. MGS3 Snake Eater then MGS4 Guns of the Patriots. There are examples of the opposite too. Dragon Age: Origins then DA2.

@FoxExecutive But for whatever reason, Fox executive, decided to phone in his comment. Forgetting that a review he disagrees with isn't written poorly. He simply disagrees with it. Thus both parties are entitled to their opinions.

@FoxExecutive How can YOU be honest about about Tom's Review matching up with the score Tom gave the game. There's a fun drinking game hidden in your post. If you do a shot every time you randomly switch from 2nd to 1st person and back again, you'll be snockered in no time.

How about some competition EA? EA would have been forced to fix some of the classic Madden problems if it weren't the only football game. Then again, Madden had competition back in 2005, got womped, and defeated its rivals the only way Madden knew how. Throw some money at the problem. Besides graphics I still enjoy NFL2k5 more than every Madden since, especially Madden 2007.

@TomMcShea My review of Tom's review and defense of his review and his snappy retorts to low blows is a 8.9 out of 10. A 10 if he had been meaner and thus funnier. But I gotta dock him 1.1 for taking the high road.

Ok so based on this response from Tom: "I don't often compare to other games in my reviews. I'd rather explain what a game does on its own terms than fall back on comparisons that may not be helpful to every reader." Which I agree with, generally. My Zelda v SOTN comment doesn't make much sense...

Maybe the context of time is the difference but this game was highly reminiscent of Symphony of the Night. I shutter to think what the outcome of a Tom McShea review of that classic would look like. I'm just curious how this game could share a lot of the same flaws and strengths with the "...the best 2D action side scroller ever..." and get a score 2 points lower.

Also Castlevania: Symphony of the Night getting a 8.9?! Shame on you GS. If Ocarina of Time is a 10, SOTN is definitely a 10.

@icestorm88 You're completely right about Wii U being a large DS. But if MS and Sony embrace the rebranding of their systems from consoles to Computers it will highlight their lack of features and freedom. From a technical stand point: who wants to worry about xbox viruses? Yuck. Their tyranny protects us from ourselves in a way.
