Its been a year, always try to do one of these after 6 weeks of a holiday. Getting pretty old now, its beginning to show im beginning to get very bitter with gaming, well not gaming, but more game and film reviewers. Everybody thinks they are one, everyone has a level of bias which they claim they dont and there are some things im noticing on live streaming which is really getting on my nerves. so, if you are bored and looking for something to read while you yourself waste some more time before you have to sleep then here we are. Enjoy!

First of all, what games have i been playing this summer which i believe skyrim(yep replayed but went deep! wow this game is good), forza6, halo, starcraft and thats just about it. in other words, nothing new. Ive seen games come and go all summer, no mans sky, dead by daylight (this was really good) but nothing really held me down but ive heard a hell of al lot of opinion, a lot more than usual on games. I took up speed running again met some people got into a few groups was really good and while i did it let you tube auto play. Everyone has a youtube channel it seems, so do i but i use it for tutorial purposes only, not many subs but i want my community to be dedicated in what it is im teaching . .anyway.

Over this last 6 weeks ive been wandering onto channels and streams and managed to stay there long enough for the question to be asked "Do you make a living off this" or something to that effect anyway and it seems it triggers streamers and then they go onto talking about their financial situations which in a lot of the streams has been ok, most still at parents, no real commitments such as family, not really got anything to pay for really. But then there are others which are screaming poverty and shit, all of these however are still in their parents house for the most part. like i said if you stay long enough you get to know quite a lot.

But heres my thing, they claim all this financial problems BUT just looking over their streaming history (for the ones that save their broadcasts) have streamed 20+ different games most of which came out over that last month. If they got them free fair enough. Where are my free games then? Anyway, They are also rocking back in dxracer chairs. Erm, im in the uk, even cheap these chairs are £200 minimum, some are upwards of £400 . .for a chair! Then they start talking aboutb their computer setups and their internet, which clock near the £1500 mark. Ive sent a few bait chat comments finding out if they are able to build their own pcs and 90% couldnt so that £1500 would be an off the shelf purchase im assuming, hey i could be wrong but the above still has to be answered for. So what im getting at here is, is these down and out, poverty streamers have spent near 5000, i mean im older than most, since twitch really kicked off about 2 years ago (i mean i started when twitch was called justin)there wasnt a single person on stream with a gaming chair, this has happened over the last 2 years and with the advent of streaming everyone seems to have i7 mech keys and hi dpi mice. then play all the current games and theres one every 2 weeks or so now . . .Do you get me? So please. Stop with the whining, its happening too much that i feel i have to write these thoughts down! I dont expect anyone to read this though, just something i like to do to vent and feel like i can add my own closure on the situation.

Ive been saying it for a while but everyone uses rotten tomatoes, Everyone uses the off meter thing, this site is a load of rubbish and i think responsible for the post review of near everyone else. ive noticed this since a lot of hi impact films came out over this last year and had negative scores, when they were releases to us AND THESE SO CALLED FILM reviewers, so they got to see it no earlier than me all gave films a negative review. Let me give and example Ghostbusters. Yep, not that good, but it was 50% of a film i can list movies in RT's best films ever which the new ghostbusters was just better than on an entertainment value. I just feel reviews dont do anyone any good as they simply dont follow fair and strict guidelines to give a balanced feel. Imagine if exams and college course grades were given out like film reviews, all the eyelid batting girls and good humored non cheeky kids who you dont mind would get solid grades(reviews) where as the people who didnt conform or you had a different opinion of would just simply score lower. If you can understand what im trying to say from the above, but noone on the internet ever does when you do this. Trigger warning.

The films which i feel the 'popular' reviewers just got plain wrong and their reviews arent even reviews. They seem to suggest how they could make the film a lot better and what would have been cooler if and then go into some sad reveal of how much they have managed to research before speaking about it OR how much of their adult time theyve spent into thinking about this form of entertainment, hey, im all for getting lost in a universe but the level of whine seems to trigger my pursuit of happiness. I would love to social experiment with the idea nothing is announced or revealed EVER and it just hits the shelves. EVERYONE i believe would just get it, use it or whatever and the world will; be much less of a negative place. Just sayin.

Anyway this has gone on just venting some real first world issues im seeing which some idiot kids on the internet are moning about, not even got onto the feminist rant yet so. Dont buy a gaming chair and whine about money issues, dont review a film and then pretend to be the director and . . .just dont!

Ive had a great time off work. I love my summer holidays as i get to play gam,es without kind of rushing them or playing them with that nagging thing of RL in the BG. I have to say however that i have been infected, by zombie games.

I started to play riptide as it was in my steam list and got hooked. I liked the way it played. the voice acting, the fact that playing on hard made encounters, individual actually scary. I was hooked. I completed the game and really want to play through again ad do all side quests this time. Game was cool. Will be getting the first one as i believe its just the exact same game with the same engine. Riptide was just a capitalization on the success. People in forums and chats didnt rate DI:RT but in this case i can tell you all those negative reviews are totally wrong. Anyway. So when i compelted the game i was still hungry for more survival and dying light seemed to be the game people shouting out after dead rising . .i dont really like dead rising its fun for a few hrs but then . . meh. So i gets dying light. When playing it i was always going on like . . .this is just reskinned dead island . . its almost exactly the same bar the models. then i looked at the dev info and they ARE they guys who built dead island and used the same engine to build DL. I was happy. Quality followed quality. The idea of the DLC to come and the current DLC which i think is the best horde variation EVER is making me quite excited that i can play this game off and on for a very long time. Like i said. Hard mode and night time survival. Its fucking beautiful.

Other than this, im still the SF pro . . kinda . . and ive recently got into killer instinct. Now that game is fun. The complexity is more than i first realised and im not quite sure why this game hasnt made it into the big leagues at evo and is like a show starter .. . . oh ye. Exclusive thats why. I hate the fact that the consoles do that now, to a point my xbox and ps have had no new games bought for them since i got MCC . .and we all know how that went.

Looking forward to the new forza though.

The show stealer this summer has to be legacy of the void. I cant believe how good that game is coming on. with the new introduction of tournaments i cant see how i would ever come off that game! Its really good signing up and then playing ladder. the game itself feels way too fresh . .which is a good thing and while noones playing it, all the deadly builds havent been discovered. its only a good sign of things to come. SC is still the greatest game ever made.

Evolve. **** that game, costing everytime you want to play it it seems. I got reasonably good at it, but im bot paying the games money again to prove it. So buy evolve, good idea but too costly on an infuriating match made lobby system.

MP doesnt work. ive had 2 games in a week 4 have dropped on start.

i took the game back after 2 days to get cash back and wait for the fix but got COD AW instead. That game is quite good, hate the run gun mp but at least you get like 5 million games in 20 minutes!

i bought game back this morning. Nope! 1 game not been able to connect since. Even gone through all that port forwarding bollocks on my pc to see if it was my fault. Nope, everything else still works!

Damn Halo. Please! Dont let me down, there are two of us in here remember!

k, i dont want to be that guy, but destiny is way too mediocre. Without all of the messing around, i think i finished it the games story in few hours. Now im left with shoot, hide, shoot hide over and over and over again quest/missions. I hate to say it, but its kinda boring.

Repetitive is the only word i can really use for this game. It looks great and controls really really well, but you have this massive world, stunning visuals and literally nothing to do in it. There are occasional chests and a few material pickups with the odd pack of enemies but this massive world seems empty. There is no interaction with the world. After this what you have is a Halo game which is just a bit more on the serious side and a little bit more slippy, if you get what i mean . . . . but probably not.

Enemys are totally uninteresting. Packs of 3-12 identical clones, mulling around shooting at you. They dont pose a threat in most cases. Most stay away shooting from distance at you while you yourself switch to your sniper, locate the weak point and its dead in 1 shot most of the time. I like the sense of power BUT the enemys make it far too easy for you. They stand there and take it to the face mostly. Bosses are a nice touch with the extra armor/health but then you get that one fight where you are only doing a tiny bit of damage and it drags like shit! I did a strike mission with 2 others and we were all max level, It took use AGES to kill a boss which was described in my mission brief as normal. Its not this that bothers me its the manner in which you take on the fight. Enemys spawn to just get in the way and annoy you so you kill them. you then unload as much as you can before more spawn, You must keep covering as all bosses in this game seem to have a 1 hit wonder shot which takes u to near dead. Its not hard, and boring and annoying. Shoot, reload, shoot, cover, shoot some trash . ..repeat. All this taking place at a distance. you could run in but lets face it, you die . . you have to do it all again and this game essentially after the story is a grind. Level up and collect currency is all thats left.

Loot. Unless im playing it wrong there isnt that much. you get occasional drops off mobs and there are a few chests lying around . . .ONLY A FEW THOUGH. Borderlands id have to say is the better game with this rpg loot style run and gun.

Multiplayer is something to be desired. It reminds me of shadowrun in some ways, you have 3 classes which do different stuff and hopefully if you have a good team you can complement the other classes by laying down shielding which the dps dudes can use to run in like maniacs. Balance is a real big issue with this mode. For me, theres going to be a BEST gun scenario where everyone in the end will be equipped with the same guns regardless of the hundreds of variations the game has to offer. This is to say, joining multiplayer might just be a waste of your time as the guys on the other team has faster firing harder hitting guns than you.

For me destiny is a 7/10 its good. really good and a definite buy but it comes across like Rage. Good looking, promised a massive world with lots to do but on the end is very limited and way too repetitive with no real WOW moments

As always i feel its always important to replay and reevaluate scores with games which boast such grandness like this and Destiny i feel is in need of such a revisit. Have i changed my opinion on the game? Yes. In short. I found a random pick up group last week and we have become quite good friends (so to speak) and are playing the content every day, having a chat and basically playing the game! Its way much more fun now. Sitting about doing the monster cave, spinmetal/bloom/mat runs is just better. Playing the raid and working it all out has been really really good. hell i even like the grinding the same missions over and over again and just getting better at them and more efficient.

With the promise of more content, dlc and the weekly updates and that the game might open itself up more and more and more. i started to realise looking at my play time and a few streamers . . . Bungie and Destiny had to make sure that people didnt just batter the content. The more and more i think about it, its a good move. Everyone is staying pretty close to each other and you havent got too many people with just ridiculous gear who noone can compete with and you get that elitist ideal running around. Yes random loot sucks when you dont get the good stuff but i feel its this which is keeping the playing field kind of level.

It is true that there isnt THAT much content and the game does suffer from mass repetition and the story . . . yes after playing through it 3 times now . . is total garbage, who the f£%$ cares really? The fact that i know there are hundreds of players, 3 different characters . .and everyone has the same god damn lines delivered to them takes away that immersion. More shit needs to be interactive in the environment and god take away the boundaries and let us just walk all over the map! Why do all the classes get the same reward at the end of the game? Bungie missed a trick there i think and that gun could of been like an infinite level upper kind of thing, something you always have something to do with, hell even if its just 1 more point of damage/faster reload/1 more bullet in clip per 100000000 xp would at least be something!

To be honest, im happy with the game, theres something to do everyday for at least a couple of hours. Yes its repetative but if you just think . . . they have the whole solar system and the moons to build on, the next galaxy . . anything released in science today to add into the game as like a future revisit, eg find curiosity . . man the ideas they can come up with are endless and i hope they dont let us down!

Its been a while since i really gave this game the patience it deserves. I believe i was on the verge of diamond last year at this point as all my matches were against them with that unbelievably hard gold league bracket they recently changed.

Im going to go for it again this year. The game is still good but i feel there are some issues right now of course with Toss and now the patches that are going to make Terran stronger. For me the Terran were never that weak in the casual leagues, just a few people pissing and moaning louder than anyone else, to a point my friend who was a master Terran gave me a build to practice so that i could hold my own against legit platinum and a few dia players of all races, it felt cheap really so i stopped. i see the build cropping up now on some streams, its still strong!

The new expansion for the game i think will be out next year(i hope) so get ready for the mandatory buzz that will surround it but for now im going to concentrate on getting myself into the master leagues, just to say i did it really. before i didnt play enough games and i did a lot of messing around whilst on ranked suck as creep spread only and daft things which usually lost me the game as i played!

Games are in fact boring me quite a lot now. i think i mentioned this in another blog. Why do they seem so boring and like there isnt much to do, even though games have never been so realistic and full of feature like never before? Maybe i am getting too old . . i think ive already said this as well. Im beginning to bate the fact that e3, games shows and the release dates of games no longer bother me. I dont like the fact that i never go onto the rundown of games sites that i used to go on eagerly waiting for maybe just one more picture or article about a game im looking forward to. What has happened? Games quite frankly these days are boring, short and full of so much promise and fail to deliver the expectation i think we all . . well.... expect! I think i mentioned in a recent blog that id gone into speed running as playing older games or the games i grew up with and bought at the time are more fun than the new games that are coming out.

I am looking forward to Halo (remake and next one) Destiny, evolve and project spark and hope thewy can actually make the purchase of my xboxONE seem like a good one. Ive not even bought my own games for it yet, just borrowed them off friends as the reviews for the ones i have played only cam e back as pretty middle of the road, although i do love forza5.

As the years go by the more and more i realise im just getting way too old!. But then i saw the SGDQ. I sit here looking at my original NES, thinking, will that thing still work? So im going to get into this speed running. Im 33. I got my nes when i was about 5 i think from boots (if you are british you will realise how odd this sounds) Boots was the ONLy place and toys R us in the early 80's that sold NES games. Noone had one of these things so i couldnt swap or do anything!

So, 2014. I watched the E3 and thought . . . .apart from Halo and spark . . . the games just look crap. Hear me out. It looks like the same thing over and over and over again, easy mode play, uber tutorials to get you through and no real challenge.

Ive got the xbox 1, forza 5 ok titan fall, ok, dead rising, ok . . . its all just ok, watch dogs . .sigh. Super metroid, YEAH!

i say this after playing i wanna be the boshy and thinking ive never played a game like this since when i was a kid(you know precise jumping and hard hard hard). anyway. SGDQ! I watched the old new runs and they were going on about tricks and this is what happens and this is something we found out last year . .3 of these new find outs i was doing when i was7 . . this opened my eyes a bit . .. i was speed running these games when the idea didnt exist and i have no physical proof that i could have given the Megaman, smb2 and rygar a run for their money. so im going to get into this speed running. Ive been bashing sc2 for the past 4 years and realised its all a load of toss . . quite literally. im not getting anywhere with it, i love the game and is quite possibly the last bastion of hope for a hard game . . or challenge (which is what im looking for)

I hope the future isnt what i fear for games, over tutorialised 4-10 hr experiences which you forget about quite quickly. The older games are where its at man . . god im getting old!

So i watched the streaming of DayZ. Liked the idea. You run around surviving from zombies and human players who can just kill you. I began to think. What motivation is there at all for anyone just to friend you? Its not like being in a team helps in any way other than to have 2 people killing the next sole guy.

No my main issue with DayZ is the fact you cant really do anything at all. theres all this shit in the game but its limited anyways. I dont really play mine craft but at least you can actually build ur own stuff and houses and forts and if ur real clever weapons and traps!!!!. you cant do any of that in DayZ.

Why cant i just dig a massive Hole in the ground, booby trap, make a fort and bunker down and then go out at night and hunt for supplies? . .well i suppose i can do that but wait . . no i cant dig the hole, out of the way, not hold up in some doorless building which anyone can just come in and cant really interact with.

with the limited state of the interactivity in games, and yes its still pretty limited in the overall things you can actually do in a game, the game has nothing to do after the first 10 minutes. so what if you find a gun, the game then starts to tell you you are ill. In real life this may come after 12 hrs!!!! The game tries to be as real as it can but just doesnt offer anything the real world offers. Why cant i just take all the doors off all the cars?? . .dont know why i would want to to that, but why cant i?

Not to mention the game is stupid because of the 3rd person view and the fact you can move the FOV to peer around corners or get a panoramic 160 degree view!! the game is stupid, but could be a good idea if you could actually do more stuff suring down time rather than sit still and look around . . its boring as hell and it irritates me that people are actually giving this the time of day.

like all my messages i bashed this out in a minute not really re read it, if it doesnt make sense it really isnt supposed to as the idea of people actually playing this game for more than 10 minutes . . . this is something i dont understand and my rant makes more sense than that

Have we really made any progress since the early 80's? Well. I sit here in front of a great game which I haven't played for a while but its updating. Didn't I kind of install this game already? Why cant I play my game? It reminds me of my gaming introduction playing cassettes, in they go . . . wait . . .wait some more, False load . . .do again . .wait . . .you get the idea. Then my dad got me a NES which blew my mind. No waiting. Ever. This I thought was evolution and a milestone in things to come.

Just for kicks me and friends get out the Spectrum Sinclair on some weekends when we have our game night (these are original editions which we personally bought, not ebayed claiming we 'remember' these computers knowing full well we never even heard/or owned it before) . . . a common gripe I have with gamers today telling me "how it was", from someone clearly 10 years younger than me . . . I digress. Anyway.

On these meets we sit and wait for the game to load off a cassette. We don't expect graphics like today we don't even mock them when we are playing, this is just tech evolution but we spent nearly twice as long on a game we played a thousand times before on a much inferior console/computer. We literally have the weeks new releases and have give them no more than an hour before we get that same old feeling and go back to crushing hi score. Don't get me wrong some latest games have blown us all away but if you think of all the massive releases over the last 10 years, only 3 or 4 have had any staying power and they are on their 4th instalment.

Another thing, console implies it does one job, which is why I get a tad annoyed with modern gaming machines being called this.

So I say again. Have we made any progress in GAMING since the 80's. Be careful here. I don't mean how it looks and what we can do in conjunction with gaming I mean playing. Why do the older games capture me and my mates attention longer(I have to add that some of these people who play games with us are not 'hardcore' gamers if you like and only play games on these meets) and before blame gets placed on me for being old and nostalgia is getting in the way, it really isnt that.

I sit here and still wait for my game to 'update' (which I replace now for loading …)

Kinect is so far in its ironing out mode my opinion. Yes Dance central is good, but adventures and kinectimals is just too mini game! Do we really have to wait a good year before they get over the wii mini game frenzy and workout games? Come on devs . . think i have some great ideas what can become of this tech . . drop me a mail!

I haven't bought all that much in the way of new games since October, its a damn shame as nothing ive wanted has come out. Sure LBP2, Dead space and a couple of others recently have taken my fancy but i have to say i invested too much time into LPB last time around only to neglect my ps3 for a while and have to suffer the F****** updates. Why must it take so long? I have the best connection England has to offer and im happy to pay the extortionate prices for it seeing most countries in the world get a much faster connection for half the price . . .anyway, as much as i loved it i cant do all that again and thats down to that f£$^"64 console. XBOX please answer that game!

But yeah, ive already found candidate for worst game of this year, Mind Jack. Where i feel if they called the game 'Dont mind jack', and have the name of the main character Jack and throw in some dialogue humouring the main guy it could have done a lot better making the mind jacking more of a joke in the vain of "come on jack, don't do that thing again, people get killed when you do that . . .come on jack, stop it, come on now, back to the home with you" the game could of hidden its massive failure rates. I say this as there are too many games last year coming out which seemed to go hell bent on cut scenes we had 4 – 8 hrs worth of game play, horrible controls, clunky interfaces and utter bore fests. Alpha protocol, FFXIV, Lone soldier, fable 3(seriously this game is awful, ive no idea why molineux gets acclaim, ive not read any history but if hes the one coming up with ideas i think he needs to play some actual games, not thinking like back in the early 90's in what games will be someday, as its actually here. Shenmue did what he seems to want to do over 10 yrs ago) and risen to name just a few.

I really do mean this when i say games are getting worse year on year. Cuts in dev time, funding or clear holes in talented personnel are dumbing down the overall gaming experience. Of course there are the few jems but this is it, there are just a few games coming out each year which i get that must queue at midnight feeing, i did that twice last year, halo and mw . . but the latter i just went as i knew it was going to be a fest in the shop.

Hopefully this year we will have a few games, Rage, bulletstorm, gears, f12011, another mw? More announcements on the blizzard/bungie/Bethesda/bioware/2k games we all know which ones i mean, already this has got more anticipation than the whole of last year (well maybe not . . i really really enjoyed the halo release and it made up for the whole year for

So let me give you a run down of the most boring game ive ever played. Ive never been so obstructed in doing the most simple of controls. Ive never been so bored in playing a single game in all my life as much as ive been bored with the playing of this one and I really mean that.

I can only imagine the coders of this game are saying to each other . . .why do we have to code this, wouldn't it be better if we . . . SHUT YOUR CAKE HOLE YOU ARE THE MONKEY CODER, WE KNOW HOW TO MAKE GAMES THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE WANT . . . .but sir, im looking at the actual code here and dot you think this is kinda slow an…… QUIET, IF WE DO IT YOUR WAY PEOPLE WILL REACH THE LEVEL CAPS FAR TOO QUICKLY RUINING THE ECONOMY. WE WANT PEOPLE TO EXPLORE THE WORLD AND TAKE IT ALL IN, . . . I agree but when we are copying and pasting most of a bland and boring environment how much and for how long do you really want them to take in . . LISTEN CODER IM PLAYING YOU TO CODE … SO CODE. Ok but as a game player a well im telling you this is really boring. . . YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING, THIS IS WHY IM PAID 3X YOUR SALARY I KNOW HOW TO MAKE FUN, EXCITING GAMES.

The game is the slowest thing ive ever played. Crafting, walking, questing . . . sitting emoting is the most dull thing ive ever done. It really isnt fun and I think I know what kind of person you are if you excitedly log into this game . . oh btw for you people with no sense of humour at all I am actually talking about ffxiv . . not f1 . . . little joke there . . . and yes I have known people to be that stupid. In fact these are the very people that are probably playing ffxiv right now and defending it. I could create a box room with a few npcs and a battle area which would be endlessly more fun than this massive word square enix have made. Im serious!

FFXI was quite the same . . .boring. Super boring. I think I made a review on game faqs . . .im going to re read after this. God that game is boring, god this game is even more boring with some of the good things taken out like an auction house!

It is by far the worst game ive ever played and im telling you ET has fun moments, superman 64 has some lol moments . .apart from my head in my hands ffxiv hasn't got any.

It's a good job I paid no money to play the game apart from buying it.
