So, few months gone and all the consoles are out and ready to start pushing their names and games.

Console mostly played: 360 / DS, Games: Guitar Hero, Final Fantasy tactics, Halo2, Zelda:TP, PinballFx, Zelda3:LTTP

So i now own a Wii and everything but the PS3 and im thanking god for his divine intervention in making me not purchase that machine just because of the Formula 1, like i did with the PSP. As far as im told is plays horrible, too twitchy and its just a spruced up version of the PS2 F106. Having not played for myself the jury is still out on the game but the friends i have are not ranting on too much about their new £450 door stop. Which brings me onto the Wii. Hmmm, i love nintendo, always have but this machine is not striking me with the joy i have had from its other consoles, even the gamecube got more play time out of me than this machine has so far. Zelda does seem cool but after playing the GC version the Wii versionseems more fiddly, after that the games are rather rubbish thus far but i live in hope that nintendo will sort this out VERY soon and we get the tidal waves of instant classics.

The xbox360 however is still getting my vote of the day and with Guitar Hero II just coming out (and being a 17yrs exp guitarist) i can say this game truly rocks, i missed it on the PS2 as i kept hearing that its not as responsive as you would like, but the 360 apparently has nailed it, and as far as im concerned it has. GOW, Halo, Crackdown and all my XBLA titles (pretty much all of them) are still getting played making the 360 a good investment into my personal enjoyment time. I also bring news of my first child, Emily Holding, 5/5/07 and weighing in at 8lb, 6oz she is surely going to benefit from the Wii and retro titles tht ill be playing in the new few years . . maybe i can make her my Street Fighter Nemesis who knows.

So. In short, PS3, needs improvement. We shall have to wait for the FF game and the other buzz games that are still in dev. Wii, Hmm, i want to like it but so far its been nothing but a disapointment, im playing more VC than the premium titles. 360, keep going baby! The 360 keeps the steady trickle of games and with the halo2 maps and the live arcade this machine has truly in my eyes beated and blasted the competition with still a lot of trcikcs up its sleeves and the awaiting of Halo3, Forza2 and i beleive the devil may cry series. So far the most unimpressive game ive played on over all the hype is test drive unlimited. Seriously. The awfulness of that game has made me play forza, motogp and pgr3 more than ever. The handling of the cars and bikes is terrible. Still i havent seen what this game is aiming to be, a racer? a car test driving game pffft, yeah youd be mad to assume you could play a agme to get a feel of a car . .and thats any car let alone an enzo for example. Well to cut it short, the game is really bad but if you have a liking for burnout the  need for speed kind of games then it may be one for you.

Crysis. Ok the game looks good but the AI looks as bad as far cry. I like the way the demoers of the game are going on about oooh look you can shoot down trees. Yeah thats cool i suppose if you are doing things predator style but the if the AI sort of sit there and dont do much and can see you through what they describe as really dense foilage then no the game is justy gonna play as bad as anything that came out onm the Ps1. The Bar for Ai is halo1 now and anything less is just trying to be a game.

For me a DEMO of a game should be closed and working to the best of its ability, because you are showing the game off for potential buyers. Crysis for example looks alright but apart from the predicatable extras that next gen brings, its looking to play as bad as all the other games. The game will have hype for a month but people eventually go back to halo, counterstrike and unreal tournament.

most impressive things ive seen are Forza 2, XBLA stuff, everything from the wii and a ps3 game that i just cant remeber the name of, kinda like a resi evil feel to it ,er resistance i believe it was called . .yes im too lazy to look!

All in all my final thought on the console wars is The 360 has the strongest set of games that appeal to me, forza 2 gears of war and ofcourse halo3. the wii has the most interesting game play appeal and will be a buy for sure, the ps3 apart from the resistance game and the F1 . .is just a $/£500 waste of money . . i might not be saying that tho is i had a HD tv however.
