Loving the PC. Best graphics and controls are a win for me. Though, the 360 is a close second for me because I love quality shooters...dgsagThats amusing since very little of the 360's library consists of shooters. Enjoying RTS and MMORPG much? Cause that's all that's on PC.

I never jumped ship. It's Saturday night, I went to get a bite to eat with my girlfriend.
You people simply don't get it. Every peice of hardware you've installed in your damn PC is built around working with windows. Every piece of hardware, from the gfx card to whatever, uses windows as a central hub of sorts. Windows is the brain that ties all the mechanical pieces together to form a cohesive whole. All your other OS choice are merely emulating windows so that these components retain some of their value.
Look at these stupid arguments... I bought RAm therefore, the owner of the RAM owns my compuer. You fail to realize that PC components cannot be compared to Windows because MS has a monopoly going. I could buy RAM from a hundred different places, I have choices. Because MS is completly cutthroat and stomped out any competition in a series of legal suites, it has a monopoly on the OS market. Which means there is little, if any choice, as to which OS you have. No competition means = complete power over market.
But, in the end, I'm right, you simply don't want to hear it. Most of the flames are coming from Hermits who swear that MS does not play an active role in their PC. They swear MS is a tiny fraction of PC gaming, which is a complete joke.
[QUOTE="Pimpshigity21"][QUOTE="HoldThePhone"]14. The PC is also a MS platform. Hermits and lemmings are brothers. -no, lemmings. hermits are not your brothers. the PC is not a microsoft platform. the xbox is a microsoft platform. microsoft gets nothing from a pc game unless they publish the game. windows is a software program. it's one of many components that make a pc work. microsoft does not make pcs. you will be looked at funny if you act like the 360 losing an exclusive to the pc is not a bad thing. if a 360 game is available on the pc, it's one more incentive not to buy a 360.
right from the myth debunk thread.

But you do know that this crazy logic only works on System Wars, right? In the real world MS is the lord and ruler of everything PC. And it's only going to get worse for MS haters once Vista becomes the norm.
So the company that made the videocard in the Playstation 3 owns the console? That is exactly what your logic is saying.
NO. Because Sony could have went to anyone (meaning Nvidia or ATI) to purchase that GFX card. It only really comes down to these two, but Sony had a choice, therefore the market is not owned. Therefore Nvidia does own part of Playstation but does not own playstation. If you play Windows games, you need Microsoft Windows, SIMPLE FACT. There are no choices if you want to play Crysis for example. YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. PCs are not owned by Microsoft, but PC gaming IS.
[QUOTE="rican914"][QUOTE="XaosII"]Despite the insult, you have not challenged or debunked my point, you lose.Your lack of common sense is amazing despite making a coherent post.
If you horrible, horrible logic is that MS makes money when a PC is bought, then you have to realize that MS makes money when Sony games sell when the developers bought MS PC's to make teh game.
I guess MS wins no matter what.
HoldThePhone
he actually did, nice rebuttle 0_o.
Umm, uh let's see, my point was that games under windows are MS exclusive, despite many people thinking otherwise. What he said right there, does not challenge this, or dispell this fact. MS does make money when Sony devs purcahse windows based computers to make PS3 games. Yeah, and? How does this effect my argument?Despite the insult, you have not challenged or debunked my point, you lose.Your lack of common sense is amazing despite making a coherent post.

[QUOTE="rican914"]This is going go against what System Wars has been about, since the very beginning, and I know I can't be the first person to illuminate this idea, but...
Let's just say, you went to Dell.com, or basicallyany otherPCvendor on planet Earth, and bought a computer there. Let's say you're a PC gamer who likes to play PC games, but doesn't have enough experience building PCs, so you buy your systems. You pick all your third party components, like a processor and a graphics card, then you get tothe OS section... and your choices are Windows and... Windows. You pick Windows and purchase your system. POOF, money in Microsoft's pocket. And your PC is now a Microsoft Windows based machine.
Let's just say, you bought all your PC components from seperate stores and plan to assemble your PC yourself. But you're a gamer and you want to play games. You go to your local CompUSA and look over the shelves. In the MAC section there are 13-14 2 year old games. However, when you get to the Windows section you seedozens of games, both new and old. Based on this simple fact, and the fact that this is how it is all around the globe, you install Microsoft Windows on your new custom built PC. POOF, money in Microsoft's pocket. And your PC is now a Microsoft Windows based machine.
Let's just say a game was released on Playstation 1 and much later on, re-released on PSP. These are two Sony platforms therefore, although it is no longer a Playstation 1 exclusive, you need a Sony platform to play it. Ok, now let's say a game was released on Xbox 360 and later was transfered over to Microsoft Windows. Although it is no longer exclusive to Xbox 360, you need a Microsoft Platform (Windows OS-- see above), to play it. Therefore, this game is still exclusive to Microsoft, yet not 360 exclusive, howver since both platforms belong to MS... umm, they really didn't lose anything, did they? I wonder who makes the choice to port over a PC game to 360, and only 360, and vice versa... hmm, I wonder who...
Let's just say you own a Playstation 3, and only a PS3, you can be defined as a SW Cow. Now, let's say you own a PS3, yet you also game on PC and frequently flaunt the fact that you can play 360 games on your PC on System Wars. You are NOT a cow. You own a MS platform, therefore, regardless if you hate MS or not, unless your play games on a MAC, you are infact part Sony-part-MS. And since MS actually made money off your purchase of Windows, which is required to play your PC games, 360 lost no exclusive. You are owned by your own rules.
Just wanted to clear that up. Thank you for your time.

there is already a real myth debunk thread that is stickied, and it says PC is not an MS platform. MS owing PCs would mean that Sony owns GeOW, because I play it on a sony made T.V.
And you are free and clear to buy Crysis on a MAC based OS system. But since MS has a little monopoly going, you can't do that, where as, I can play GeoW on any brand TV I damn well feel like it because Sony doesn't DOMINATE THE TV MARKET. Sony's fault.MS dominates the PC market, therefore, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. It is OWNED BY THE DOMINATE COMPANY, THANK YOU.

[QUOTE="II-FBIsniper-II"]This just proves that their will bea PC version. It's just that it will take time.So pretty much halo 3 isnt exclusive. You people just don't listen/read/think.CNET.com.au: What can you tell us about a possible PC version of the game?
FO: I can tell you for a fact that there's not one line of code written for a PC version at this point. We're not working on it, Microsoft hasn't even chatted to us about it yet. They realise the important thing is to get the 360 version at this point.
Thinker_145
I give up. How is Halo 3 not an exclusive when you need a Microsoft platform to play it? Is there a Sony platform that plays Halo? Maybe a Nintendo platform? You thinkbecause you own a PS3 and a gaming RIg PC, you're a COW? LOL. Not unless you game on a MAC, buddy.
[QUOTE="rhaigun"][QUOTE="-Spock-"][QUOTE="rhaigun"][QUOTE="-Spock-"][QUOTE="rhaigun"]Still console exclusive.-Spock-
That term seriously needs to die...
Why? Ok then, it's Microsoft platform exclusive. The PC is not a Microsoft platform. :|
One more strike and you're out..
It is if it's Games for Windows only.See, "Games for Windows only" would have been much more acceptable than saying "Microsoft platform exclusive". I don't mind you using the former, but the latter is probably the most ridiculous and misinformed argument on these forums. The PC, as a platform, is definitely not Microsoft's property -- only the Games for Windows brand is. The PC is about the free exchange of software from any party.
Every PC vendor, on the this planet iirc, offers ONLY Windows as an OS. That is your only choice for OS when you buy a PC at 90% of vendors. Everytime someone buys a PC, with Windows installed on the harddrive... money in MS's pocket. Hey, that's MS's doing, they used their muscle and dominated the market, but hey, that's the way it is.And unless you game on a MAC (LOL), your PC, your PC gaming, every PC game you've ever bought, DL'ed, ripped was made to run off of Windows, therefore, you owe your PC gaming experience to MS.
