I can't get over how good this is! I came in expecting another Warriors game; it's nothing of the sort: it's an ARPG that feels both refreshingly old school in progression and level design, and stylishly modern in presentation and combat.

The music is fantastic, the characters are endearing, the antagonists are nuanced; completely blown away by the whole the thing. 9/10

I wouldn't be surprised if they 'sold' their own 'hacked' source code in the hope of someone else patching the game for them.

I hope that source code does leak, then the community can get to work on a decent fan patch job.

Just once it would be nice to see some honesty:

'Anthem is never going to be profitable enough for EA to invest any money into it. Servers will remain open until they too become more hassle than they're worth, and then we'll close them too.'

I'd have more respect for these corps if they showed their consumers some first.

What I don't understand is, if you have to put systems in place to reach a certain progression point, by automating and speeding that process up; why have the progression system work like that in the first place?

Why add systems, to solve a problem, you added in to begin with.

Haven't been to GS for a while as I've found their reviews to be increasingly more opinionated and concerned with popular cultural and social rhetoric than with actual mechanical critique. I've also noticed the GS scores seem to be rather abstract when compared to the meta, which I suspect is an issue relating to the individual reviewers seeking exposure and attempting to be 'edgy'.

This review seems to highlight nearly all of the above, coupled with a ridiculous time constraint to get something published. Much of the review highlights inconsequential interactions within the game, clearly contradicting what many less beholden reviews by independents seem to have highlighted.

Unfortunately I think the player makes much of what this game has to offer in how they actually play the game, and a deadline is no way to adequately gauge what the experience can be for any given player. As such, I do not exclusively blame the reviewer, as I would guess they are a product of the current culture in games journalism as an industry.

Watch all opening cutscene, yes it's unskippable.

Finally works, performance is rubbish.

Avoid till it's fixed.

This article is disgusting. Not only is it fiercely patronising, it portrays Black people as unable to speak up for themselves, or to defend their own rights. So what, Black people need their White privileged protectors to look out for them because why? Are Black people somehow less capable of looking after themselves and each other.

This article is everything that is wrong with White attitudes to the Black minority. They shouldn't be your 'Black gamer friends' they should be just your 'gamer friends'; race should have nothing to do with it.

Black people want, and deserve, equality. They don't want your White privileged protection.
