game framerates do not rely on your cpu at all. it all depends on your gpu. The most important thing is you want to make sure your cpu itself isnt a bottleneck. With the Q6600 that is not a worry, even at stock speeds.freesafety13that's not exactly true. with my old computer, i could get good frame rates in C&C3 with high graphic settings...but when lots of units were on screen, the fps would slow way down. cpu and gpu both play a role. however, a q6600 is not gonna bottleneck any graphics card any time soon.
