That's pretty true. I still own PS1 disks and some seriously ancient PC games. I just cannot part with then. I wont be selling twilight princess, Skyrim or Xcom: enemy unknown any time soon either. This blocking used games stuff is just complete bullshit. It's a lazy way of grabbing more money off consumers. If they don't want us to sell our games, they should make them good enough that we want to keep them and bring out worthwhile DLC that doesn't hasn't removed anything from the game but builds on something that is already an awesome experience.
@rdwolf260 @1tch @xixtor I'm just really hoping it doesn't all go digital anytime soon. I like having the physical copies for the Xbox. If I pre-order a game i'm really excited about I always get the special edition; I love when they come with artwork. Whats the point in them completely copying steam. Xbox wont be able to compete with them price wise. There would be no point in me even buying a console, I might as well just buy everything for PC.
@xixtor Yeah, i'm pretty bummed out by it. I loved playstation back in the day, but bought a 360 last gen. I was really looking forward to the new xbox. This is a complete mind ****. I just cant bring myself to buy one now with all these restrictions and money grabbing schemes, it just completely destroys the way I play console games. Sounds like they really just do not give a shit about their customers. I'm just completely bewildered. Crazy shit
I'm so glad i'm not getting an Xbox this time round. I ditch my really old games at charity shops. Imagine someone giving money to charity and then having to pay greedy Microsoft and publishers additional money to use it. Aw man, that would be awful. Here's Oxfam's cut, here's Microsoft's cut. What a bunch of dicks.
Oh my god, so I can rent a game from microsoft and they will even let the rest of my family use it. Holy shit that's revolutionary. Actually owning the disk and being able to sell it or give it to a charity shop when I don't want it anymore is overrated anyway. Recycling is a complete waste of time. We should just start piling these millions of copy's of shit games at the dump already. Maybe I could just turn then into a nice mobile and hang it over my patio.
@Gravity_Slave Eh? That makes no sense. Yeah it's typical for companies to pass the blame. But there's no piracy or theft involved with the issue. They're talking about blocking people from using something that someone else paid full price for and sold on. Imagine if you bought a car and wanted to sell it and the new buyer had to give the manufacturer money to use it. Its a little shit.
@Gravity_Slave @Navardo95 The thing is, they can try and pass the buck all they want but they did build the infrastructure into the console. 'Hey we built in the ability for the console to block used games, but it's up to the publishers whether they are actually going to.' Haha, this is just genius.
Holy shit! Maybe the Xbox is so much more expensive because of all the restrictions that they put their money and effort into adding. Seriously. It must have been so much easier for Sony to just not add them.
