On Tuesday, July the 15th, I was as excited as ever. Finally, I would see what Nintendo had up its sleeve and what games I'd be eagerly waiting for for the next half a year or so. My hopes were high as the conference started, and I was a little shocked to see them open with Shaun White Snowboarding, but I waited that out and continued on watching. Then I was very happy to see Animal Crossing: City Folk, which I'd been anticipating an announcement for an Animal Crossing for the Wii for a while. I watched on. Then, I saw a lot of third-party titles that didn't impress me much: Grand Theft Auto for the DS, Star Wars: The Clone Wars for the Wii and DS, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party consisted of them. Then, soming good other than Animal Crossing appeared: Wii Sports Resort. That and the already announced Wii Motion Plus was good and all, but where was Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, Pikmin, and the other hardcore games? Anxiously I waited. Then, I watched the lights dim. I thought to myself "Here we go! What's it going to be?! Zelda?! Star Fox?!.............. Wii Music?" I watched, and I was a little excited about it. It was cool, and would be fun with friends. Then, I thought "Can we please get to the awesomeness?" I looked at the clock, and judging by how long the Microsoft conference was, there was enough time for a hardcore game to blow our minds. I watched, heartbroken, as the good people at Nintendo left the stage. Animal Crossing, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Music were what I was left with, and while they were all cool, they failed to impress me that much, and most of us out there. I know there are games in the works, but Nintendo could not cater to the E3 goers. E3 is for the hardcore, and all Nintendo left us with are games for the casual audience..... again. Nintendo is my favorite game company, but I was far more impressed with Sony and Microsoft. (Ouch....) Are the long-time Nintendo fans like me being shoved aside for newcomers? Does Nintendo not care about its true gamers? Nintendo, please, dear God I beg of you, prove me wrong.
