Without including PS, PS2, XBOX, Gamecube.. Thats not even including Snes,Nes,Atari,N64, etc. Seriously, stop comparing 10+ years of PC games(such as SC) to current generation consoles. It's not a fair comparison, unless you include previous generations. A better comparison would be the last 5-6 years of PC games, to PS3/Wii/360. Not the last +10 years of PC games to the last 5 years of consoles. So PS,PS2,PS3, XBOX,XBOX 360, Gamecube, Wii have a better library and higher rated exclusives, and generated a ton of more revenue, then the last 10+ years of PC games. PS2 alone has probably generated more revenue, and higher rated exclusives to the PC.

[QUOTE="skrat_01"][QUOTE="roflumadkid"] Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: ODST. They are the same series, it continues selling, thus console games continue to sale years after it's original release? See I can make dumb statements to support my arguments too. Old PC games continue to sell because, you don't buy a brand new PC and throw away your old one every 5 years. The fact that there was only 1 SC game in the past 12 years, attributes hugely to it's numbers. If they released a SC game every 1-2 years, it's numbers would be nowhere near that. Don't bother answering me either, unless you plan on responding to all my points, not twisting them around.

No, that is possibly the worst logic you could have ever used. Sequel =/= the original title. Fact of the matter is console games generally have a very short shelf life. This isn't a secret, it's a well known fact that generally it's make or break in the first few months of retail, unless the game actually has legs. Old PC games sell for a variety of reasons, one being backwards compatibility, two being a much wider audience, three being hardware - it's the nature of the system, and digital distribution has simply expanded it. There was only one SC game for so long for a reason, Blizzard was working on other IPs, and the game itself was building momentum post brood war, in such a climate it was unnecessary to pump out periodical sequels. The difference between PC game and console game shelf life is simply huge; these are very different markets.

Good job, you just said what I've been saying the past 2-3 pages, with different words.

No you can't proof it because it's no longer for sale at retail unlike a 12 year old pc game.

Probably because most stores aren't selling the SYSTEM anymore. I swear this thread has dropped my IQ by just reading the stupid comparisons PC gamers come up with. Brb comparing an original xbox that's like 10 years old, and almost impossible to find, to a PC, something you can find at basically any huge retail store. That's not even the stupidest part of your argument. The reason you can find those games on a PC is because the PC isn't remade entirely new, every 5-6yrs like a console.

So you also admit old pc games keep selling at retail unlike your console games?

[QUOTE="Arach666"] I´ve shown you a link regarding Half Life like you asked not counting DD,show me one of Halo CE that proves continuous retail sales.

I can't. There is no sales tracking for last gen consoles. Most original Xbox games continue selling very well on Games on Demand, and I already proved Combat Evolved is selling like crazy, but I guess it doesn't count since it's digital distribution.

Is that why Crysis is still selling with Warhead out already?

Arach666

Every game continues selling even after the sequel is out. On any system. At any time. That's why people continue buying Uncharted 1 even though Uncharted 2 is out. The sequel continues the story most of the time. Believe it or not, a lot of people like starting from the entry point in the story and continuing.

Can you go to your local retail store and buy MGS for the PS1? Because I can do that with Half life,Grim Fandango,Starcraft and many other games from that year, they are on the shelves even today.

You're also joking, right? You have to be trolling.

lol...i'm laughing at you. Halo Reach is going to piss on SC2's mother on release. thus proving that it IS the most anticipated game of 2010 on any platform;) deal with it.

AdrianWerner

Halo Reach is a small time title compared to Starcraft 2 :)

You're joking right?

You think they care what the core gaming market thinks, lol? They are clearly going all in with Kinect, and are banking on making a dent in the casual market. Why do you think that the core exclusive line-up looks so incredibly weak beyond Halo Reach? Microsoft has switched gears and the proof is in the pudding.

ironcreed
Yes, because all they have is exclusives, and I don't see why you're worrying about 2011, when it's 2010.

Only thing that's going to fail is move, it's being released in 16 days, and I doubt you knew that, or anyone else for that matter. Kinect is going to be a huge success, because they have Justin Bieber, which appeals to girls, who are usually casual gamers. Oh and why would MS be scared to death, they have Kinect and Halo: Reach, both will be raking them in millions, and you'll see a huge amount of 360 sales in the weeks reach and kinect are released.
