Yes, its a free open source program. You have to download the ISO bootable version. You have to burn it to a CD, then boot with it.

EDIT: I just found out that they are 2 different memory test softwares, memtest86 and memtest86+. I've use the + version, and read that it is more compaptible. Get it herehttp://www.memtest.org/

Hmm, is it crashing during gaming, or just surfing? Because sometimes high temperatures can freeze your computer. If it is crashing during gaming, then your GPU is getting hot thus' crashing your system. Can you tell the memtest result?

It's better, but don't plan playing latest games. Ati cards prices are going to drop, so you can possible get a good deal for a 4870/4850/4770. What monitor do you have and what games do you tend to play? If you don't play games, you can keep 7600, or even G100.

OK now, try some normal speakers or headphones and see what happens. If it's still crashing, try memtest. Sometimes it can be the RAM fault of these crashes. It happened to me too but not with speakers or any other device. Run memtest for each ram stick, and maybe you can find a faulty ram. I'm not saying that RAM is faulty, it could be other things, but I just wanted to help lol :P !

NFS Shift is lot better than the GS reviewer rated this game. IGN and other game review websites all rated higher than 9.0 GS rating is not real. And yeah, they've been ignoring PC reviews lately

Nvidia quadro is not a card for gaming. It can run some of these games on lowest resolutions and details, thats it. You should have bought a desktop for these games, notebooks are not for gaming.

That x1650 should definitely run without problem on your PSU. There is no need to upgrade your psu. I had a hd3850 running on 300w without problems, so that card should run fine :) First check if it can run Sims 3!

You can't really build a gaming Pc with 500$ with monitor included. At least 700$ for a decent system
