I've been told that Kingston or something is the best. But I don't know if that's true or not.PlasmaBeam44
Nah, lies man. Corsair FTW. You just can't beat Corsair... I'm loving their RAM and I'll be getting their HX520 PSU soon aswell.

To the original poster - Yeah, Omega Drivers are 100% fine, just make sure your card is compatible with the software (look on the website), because that's an odd card that you've got there... never heard of it.
I also have a question! I'm currently using normal ATI drivers. Is it actually worth it to switch to the Omega Drivers? What fps increase would I see (if any)? Cheeers.
Edit: I'm using the HIS X1950Pro btw.
The main factor in the life of a motherboard is how many times you put on a fleece jacket and a pair of dry socks, run around on your carpet until your hair stands straight up, and then grab the northbridge with the palm of your hand while the computer is under full load.

Agreed.

Haha, don't try and slag this game off graphically. I hope everyone isn't going to look at this comparison and say "OMG! WHAT HAVE CRYTEK DONE!?" Everyone look at these pictures:

OK, I'd say the reason for the Alpha screenshot looking so much "better" than the one from the demo is simply because of the lighting. I'd say the hour cycle in that screenshot is somewhere around late afternoon/sunset. I mean, for gods sake, that demo screenshot is in the middle of the day. Christ. You can't see any spectacular shadows or HDR blazing through the trees because of the angle (looking away from the sun), time of day and overall area he chose in the demo - it's totally sheltered.I know exactly where it is because I've been there (ran into that heavily covered area to avoid being spotted from the road). Secondly, he's got the AK equipped in the demo, and in the Alpha screenshot, the SCAR is being used - you see my point? Anyone? *cough* Bias *cough.* How hard could it have been to think "Hey, it'd make a better comparison if I actually used the same gun." :| Thirdly, we all know what effect is being used to make the SCAR in the Alpha screenshot look more fancy - Object Motion Blur. Oh, wait, haven't you heard? This is already in the demo for christs sake - like when you punch, or throw an enemy or object. Fourthly, look at how SH*TTY and low-resolution the textures of the environment and SCAR in this screenshot are, everything in the demo is farmore detailed than this - http://www.incrysis.com/incgalleryview.php?file=398.jpg When it's released, Crysis will easily be up to date with - if not surpass - the Alpha build of the game :| Jesus, why would they "downgrade" the graphics when they've already stated that Crysis will be pushing hardware for 2 years to come.
A more ideal scene, I believe, for a screenshot comparison of the Alpha build and Demo of Crysis would be when you first reach an enemy NK base, with the Jamming Device and the sunrise. The graphics are literally breathtaking. At this point, shadows, sun-rays and the awesomely detailed environment (the rock and foilage textures = mega drool) are used to best effect. You can watch the sun, lighting and shadows actively change around you. This scene in the demo, graphical-wise, is my personal favourite. Everything just looks mindblowing. PERIOD. My GFX card totally couldn't crack it though - constant 10fps (:O) with my X1950Pro with all settings @ high (I used the XP Very High hack though btw), 1440x900 and no AA. Ah well, I've got my 8800GT to look forward to! I just HAD to see what Crysis was like at these settings - I wasn't disappointed like you was ;)
That alpha build blows away the demo no matter how much defending you try. BTW there's only one source of light on the island which is the Sun so to make a execuse of different times of the day is to why the leaves hardly was translucent is bull. An island isnt really that complex as to comparison of a city in terms of light and how many lights(also anisland only has about 3 main priority colors which is Brown for dirt, Blue for water,Sky green for Vegitation. Rather a city has so many colors.) Sunlight penetrates leaves whether morning or afternoon and the only way the SUn will not be able to penetrate the color will have to a a mass cloud. Speaking of clouds why isnt it affecting shadows on the island unlike Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the 360.OK I don't need a bloody lecture about different colours and contrasts in different environments; I'm not a retard mate. So you're saying that translucent leaves make that Alpha build special in comparison to the demo? Are you having a laugh? The only things that stand out in that screenshot is the darker shadows (I'll bet you 50 quid that the engine can alter the contrast of shadows - Sandbox Editor in final game), translucent leaves (isn't this already going to be included in the final game? Correct me if I'm wrong) and motion blur (obviously this doesn't even count because this is already included in the demo). Would you kindly point out any other things that stand out - if you can find any others, that is. Oh, and yes, I am defending the demo. You wait until the final game comes out, that'll keep your mouth shut ;)

Someone posted these pics in the incrysis forums:
EditorLighting 1
EditorLighting 2
They were taken in editor at Very High settings. He tweaked several parameters (time of day, atmospheric effects, lighting angle) to achieve that.
Here's the thread.
ROFL OMFG OWNEEEEEED!! FORGET MY POST ABOVE!! Jesus christ almighty, now I CAN'T WAIT to get my 8800GT!

Looking at Crysis benchmarks, it seems that the 8800GT PWNS. So, I'm living in the UK and I'm currently awaiting for EVGA's SSC edition of the GT - any idea of when this beast is coming out in the UK? Anyway, onto the questions:
1. Does EVGA's lifetime warranty cover the UK? When I get my 8800GT, I might adjust the fan speed to 75-80% (quite high, depending on when I'm satisfied with temps) Say if the fan fails, will EVGA still give me a replacement?
2. I'm currently using the X1950Pro, so I'm obviously using ATI drivers. How do I completely uninstall all of my ATI stuff? I really don't want to have any interference with my new card.
