Check that. Gears of War was a CONSOLE game... not amajor PC game, in fact it will fail as a Pc game. Why? It was a crap game. As a console game Daaamn looked nice, but after the same thing over.. and over... and over... and over again pretty only goes so far you know?

IE

Go into a room, AHH bad guys, duck and shoot duck and shoot.... ok cool, all dead. I'll move to the next room. AHhhh Bad guys, duck and shoot duck and shoot... rinse, repeat.

This will fail because its a pretty game, not a good game. and PC has a TON of pretty games and a TON of good games.

Gears of War will fail on PC because its nothing new and has absolutly no replay value.

You suck. Zere is NOTING more satisfying than achieving HEADSHOT on GoW.

I don't think he is lying, just because they are cheap doesn't mean they are crap. many of the sempron now are as good as the low-mid a64s, they just basicly lack dual core, but i'd say they could take out a 2.8ghz and match a 3.2ghz p4 in current games

I think CPUs are somewhat overrated. I grew attached to my P4 3.6ghz and after switching to E6600 it felt like a decrease in performance even though 3dmark06 disagreed.Swiftstrike5

I agree. I think they are somewhat overrated. People still think that CPUs play a very important role in computer games. I don't believe it. It's all GPU. But then I start to think differently when I see World in Conflict. Is that game even any good? It looks crap :| Could be wrong, but the fps you get when playing that game are just plain horrible, even with top-of-the-range hardware :| On a side note, when I was looking into the parts for my PC, my brother used to say to me "Why are you getting that Processor? Just cut down on the CPU and spend more on the graphics card." I think it makes more sense. I'd only get a top notch CPU (Q6600, for example) if I was involved in decoding and file compression and stuff like that. I'm in love with my AMD X2 4600+, and if I ever do feel that it's showing some age, I can always overclock it thanks to my Arctic Freezer Pro. Oh, one last thing, aren't "bottlenecks" only like a decrease of 5fps? :| Is that it? People on these forums are always saying "Ohhh no you'll have to get a better CPU if you're getting that graphics card."

Man, not one of you people again... CRYSIS MP IS A BETA AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH. Besides, Crysis beta ran pretty well for me.

Whew I'm surprised that these random fps drops during combat didn't hold me back there... I think I've made my point. Lastly, you say that you can run it pretty "well." High settings? BS MATE. Tell me your specs and what settings your playing at first and then we'll see. Bear in mind that people with Q6600, 2GB ram, and 8800GTS (sometimes even GTX) are getting severe fps drops in some areas and constantly during combat ;) You don't believe me? Go on the Crysis beta yourself on a crowded server and ask people. Go on forumplanet. When I get my 8800GTX/2950Pro, I won't know what to say if I can't max out Crysis (1440 x 900).
