usually if you overclock a video card its better to use a program like ATI Tool but with CPU's it best to use the BIOS
now as for the question...it all depends not all settings are the same as other people it depends on the manufacture and cooling if one person has reaches his limit theres alot of chance that you can exceed it or not reach it

Yeah I know all of that :P Obviously you use some kind of software to OC your GPU, and cooling plays a role in how far you can OC. But what is the MAX core/memory frequency you can reach before the card itself - NOT cooling - refuses to go any further?
Even with a shielded subwoofer, I would keep it a couple of feet away from other devices. Especially the computer. Play it safe because sometimes even shielded units aren't good all the way around. It's the magnetic field emitted by the speaker magnets (plugged in or not) that is the biggest worry. I remember a time when I was explaining to one person after another who had lost data problems (both on HDDs and floppy disks) why it was bad to have the sub right next to the tower. For those who aren't familiar with the effect, turn on a CRT television and hold the disconnected sub right up to the side or top of the screen for a few seconds. You get some pretty colors, and it's a good demonstration of the magnetic interference. Just don't leave it next to the TV for an extended period of time, or the distortion might stay after the speaker is taken away. If you happen to get no screen distortion at all, then you own a subwoofer with excellent shielding. Be proud. :D You can actually use this as a sort of "test" to see which side of your sub enclosure has the weakest shielding by rotating the sub while it's next to the TV. For example, my TV surround sound system's sub has weaker shielding in the front than on the top, bottom, sides, and rear.deadfirezero
Thanks, I'm sure everyone else would agree - EXCELLENT ADVICE!
I'm stuck in the same boat as you. I've got an X1950Pro, and I'm considering getting an eVGA 8800GTS 512. There's the step up program, yeah, but is a TRUE, BEASTY 9XXX series card going to come out in like 3 months time? I sincerely doubt it. I'm talking about the 9800GX2 (pffff pathetic), I'm talking about a true "next-gen" GPU. However, I'm still pondering my decision... :S
