The Ice levels for me ran great, The ice levels are more stressfull on a cpu than the gpu for some odd reason. Any of the 8800GT/GTS's run Crysis great depending on CPU.04dcarraher
What CPU do you have? I'm using an X2 4600 @ 2.8Ghz.
Those two levels were the best performing levels on my HD3870 Crossfire setup. I got anywhere between 40-60 fps at Very High settings in those levels. I keep hearing those levels were the worst performing levels, but I think in the case of ATI cards they actually do better then Nvidia cards (in just those two levels). I could be wrong though, but from my own experience my setup eats those levels for lunch.karasill
See, I think I heard something like this from you, or it may have been someone else. This is what's bugging me. To be honest, it might actually be better to have higher fps in the snow/core levels.. but I'm not entirely sure. Man. Decisions decisions. Get the 3870... or the 8800GTS 512...
Where do you get news on PC Hardware?
I go to www.tomshardware.com and www.vr-zone.com

vr-zone.com FTW. Hands down.
People are saying it's a great post when it proves absolutely nothing.
I made a similar thread about the performance of another card and i was assused of "defending" my investment. That's wonderful isnt it?

It proves that the 3870 is a good card. Didn't you read Wesker's post? "You can't go wrong either way." - Referring to the 3870 and 8800GT.
AMD said themselves during CES that the HD3870 X2 will be priced at $400-500.Things in Europe or Australia are way overpriced. We got an 8800 GTX for $900-1000 (AUS), which would make it around $800 USD.

Oh god does that mean in the UK it's going to be OVER £300? But when you think about it, that would be ridiculous, because a single 3870 on ebuyer.com is £150, so if they make the 3870X2 over £300, then you had might aswell get two 3870s in Crossfire.
