@ad1x2 The problem is it is hard to find a copy elsewhere and most people, like me, prefer a physical copy. I think Nintendo is classifying this game as 'evergreen' which refers to a game that will sustain its sales through word of mouth.
So many games announced for this Nintendo Direct alone So many AAA titles that are already here and releasing almost every month.
I mean, this is Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 we are talking about with upgraded graphics and that's not considering when Pokemon X and Y hits this October.
Wow! This is just soooo unfair to the PS Vita that I own.
I don't know. From my perspective, as a consumer and a gaming hobbyist I look for these things when buying a console:
Exclusives: the reason I bought a Sony PS1, PS2 is for FF7,FF8,FF9,FF10,FF11,F12 the reason I bought an Xbox 360 is for Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey the reason I bought a Wii is for Zelda, Mario, Brawl,Mario Kart the reason I bought a 3DS: Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey the reason I bought a PSP is: Final Fantasy Tactics Ogre, Patapon, Jeane D'Arc
Price and affordability: I only got the PSP, PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 when it was reasonably affordable after they are more than 2 years old.
All he is saying is about 'potential' but there are a lot of factors to be considered in order for a console to be successful. The PS3 has great potential with all the bells and whistles it has. The Gamecube is much more easier to program than a PS2. So there you go.
"That's not the reality; I was involved in all the meetings. DRM was never even brought up once," he said.
He's correct that it is not DRM. It's just a poorly designed implementation to circumvent piracy which at the same time offended owners of the game and scared off potential buyers from fans of SIM City since the early 90s.
Come on! Gamers are not stupid. Most game designers and programmers are not stupid since they are 'forward' thinking people. They know that this will happen. We have seen all types of anti-piracy measures since we started gaming on a PC back in the mid-80s. This 'always online' method is just the most idiotic, impractical and not thought-out method decided by 'evil suits at EA' that we have seen for a SINGLE player game.
"The only way a Fez Wii U port could happen is if Nintendo paid for and handled the port themselves," he said. "Which I highly doubt will ever happen."
With that kind of attitude, it will be very hard for anyone to work with him in ANY industry or convince anyone to pay and port his future games to existing/future platforms. Don't bite the hand that(will eventually) feed you.
" PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 games will likely cost $70according to a presentation at South by Southwest this weekend from Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter..."
Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha! I'm sorry..Ha ha ha ha ha!Ha ha ha ha ha!Ha ha ha ha ha! Ok, what I'm trying to say is...Ha ha ha ha ha!Ha ha ha ha ha!Ha ha ha ha ha!Ha ha ha ha ha!Ha ha ha ha ha!
I hope Microsoft have excellent stuff for us for their next Xbox. But for the love of God, Microsoft, please make sure that you test the hardware before mass producing it! I don't want another RROD, hardware failure or 'jet fighter taking off' noise fiasco or some proprietary HDD that made me stay away from your console in its first three years of its life.
