I'd tell him to wait until Paris and Lindsey were together and try to get them both with one shot. Or I'd just give him more ammo and let him lose in Verizon headquarters.

[QUOTE="ixlr8evo8"]

CONS:
-More deaths, drug addicts, and more hospitals filled
-Medical costs will go up
-Crime will go toward different crimes (most likely more controllable ones)

yoshi-lnex

actually becouse drugs would be cleaner, and becouse when drugs are leaglized use actually goes down when legalized, hospitals would actually see less, and medical costs would go down.

OK, so drug use goes down when drugs are legalized... that must be why you never see anyone smoking pot in Jamaica or Amsterdam, and why alcohol use in the US plummeted after the prohibition ended. Great point!!

No. Most illegal drugs are illegal for a reason. In 19th-century China, so many people (the majority of its population) became addicted to opium that the country relied on British trade and China's productivity plummeted. Result: China gets shellacked in the Opium War. That's not likely to happen, but look at the Caribbean, in some countries virtually everyone smokes pot daily and no one accomplishes anything. If all drugs were legalized, in 20 years over half of the US would be addicted to pot, morphine, crack, ecstasy, heroin, meth, oxycontin, aderall, or who knows what else.

Quite frankly, nicotine and alcohol provide plenty of escape.

It's between Fight Club and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Probably Fight Club, but I've only seen it once.

I smoke about two packs a week. I started smoking at the beginning of the semester, but I'll probably quit over spring break because once I'm at home I won't be able to use my dining credits to buy cigarettes.

[QUOTE="Ineedtofindyou"]To deny the existence of a Supreme God, would be to diectly deny the existance of GOOD and EVIL. quadraleap

Not necessarily. If this was a math equation, your if/then statements do not add up.

They pretty much do. If there is no higher being than man, man dictates all rules, and there are no absolutes concerning morality, which is a man-made idea since there is no basis for it in nature. Therefore, every person has the right to come to his or her own conclusions concerning morality, hence leaving no room for any universal set of standards.

Well, it's almost 3:30. I have to finish a 6-page essay by tomorrow morning, but I really don't care. I'm just awake because I don't feel like sleeping, and I know I have to do this essay. Yes, I am a loser. The good thing is, my roommate isn't here. Oh well, I'm probably screwed anyway, so I can just chain-smoke and whatnot until I finally fall asleep without having done my work and have a panic attack in the morning. Heh.
