Eddie, enough w/ the hyperbole, please. "Sales sink, SINK to by 4% to $3 billion! They must not be happy!" Please, just report the news, not put your own spin on it.
@DarkSaber2k Yeah, I guess you're right. I guess one pseudo-similarity is enough to make them the exact same. We can ignore virtual world vs real world. Anonymity vs accountability. Past time hobby vs real life livelihood. Interacting w/ lazy nerds vs interacting w/ business people, etc etc.Plus, you, like this researcher, are assuming everyone plays WoW (or even works in real life) for the same reason.
ehh...does he believe this is a universal? Either way, what an awful correlation. WoW and corporate work are not the same. Oh well. Guess that's why this guy is only a researcher.
I think for the genre to REALLY flourish, there needs to be dedicated servers for online play for each game. Are there any fighting games that have dedicated servers for online play? More often than not, when I try to get on Skullgirls or MK or BlazBlu online, it's laggy and frustrating.
@Psychokillaz ehh, shooters were very big in the e-sports scene just a decade ago, dude. Then players realized they actually take skill to be good and instead picked up LoL.
