if it does break my plan is to pay some guy 50bucks to repair it sell it to eb games for 180-200 then save up 100-125 to buy a slim, but then i lose my BC

well, during a power surge 2 weeks back my ps3 overheated and i got the flashing red light. Its been working fine since then. i recently told a friend about it and he said the same thing happened to him (minus the power surge) and it lasted him 3 weeks until he got the YLOD. My ps3 is a 80gig MGS4 phat. around 18 months old.
