[QUOTE="samiup"][QUOTE="osan0"]

the only one i can think of is empire total war....feb 9th next year.

besides that...nope, nothing at the high end and cutting edge. multiplat is the future for various reasons.

its a situation that i would be very very worried about if i was Nvidia, intel and AMD (i have ambitions :P). no reason to upgrade..no need to upgrade. they should seriously start looking into making their own games imho...or making games under the PCGA or something.

osan0

which means there will be no need to buy and modd a rig anymore... a console is much easier both to buy and to maintain.

and studios will be just limited to whatever two or three mega corps dictate on them as far as hardware...

well, thats a very dark future, i hope you are wrong my friend.

as do i.

it wouldnt be the end of PC gaming though (hardware is not what keeps the PC going...community is)..theres always devs who want to get their feet wet and the PC is the ideal place to make a start. i dont want to start a war in here..so ill just say that consoles have limitations placed on them by their makers. these small devs just dont have the financial clout to really push a high end PC.however they to tend to be a bit more ambitous with their ideas..they have to be.

as for modding....no ti wouldnt be the end of that. modding (hardware modding anyway) is a seperate hobby from PC gaming.

yeah, i think so too, i think most of the great games that will come to PC will be from new independent studios, like the great experience of Crysis, the Witcher and Sins of a Solar Empire...

im not expecting those studios to keep working exclusively for PC, cause they should make some money too now that they have proven themselves, and the best way to do it is by multiplating, i dont blame them... its faire and its their right.

however, i still think that we will get surprisingly good revolutionary titles on PC first, which is totally worth it.

[QUOTE="samiup"]yes its incridible for consoles, but very average for a PC, taking in consideration the downgraded grfx and environement physix.Elann2008

Are you serious? Average for the PC? Downgraded graphics? The PC version is beautiful.. You must have a subpar PC.. I couldn't stand the console version because the graphics were so terrible, i refused to play it, let alone buy the darn game. The PC version is miles better in every way.. mouse + keyboard makes it so much better for the controls, although I agree with the other post that the mouse feels a little floaty when trying to turn.. This could be the result of this game being made for the 360 as well..

well, maybe i have old information or bad information, because last time i checked on this, the devs were saying that all the 3 versions were the same and that they didnt put any diffrence between them... and thats why i didnt even bother trying the demo.

as a golden rule, if a game is the same all over, then ill get it for console unless its an FPS. cause what devs mean by "all the same" is basically developing it for one system then adapting it to the others, and since PC's are superior in power, they cant resonably make a top notch title for PC and then adapt it to lower spec consoles. but the other way arround is possible. they can make the textures for the consoles first and those textures will fit into PC's easilly.

in order to make a game top notch for bothe PC and the 2 other consoles, the devs MUST at least create two diffrent sets of textures... which i dont think they are willing to do.

no thats just an urban legend that Apple is trying to fix in peoples heads by massive marketing compains.

- fact1 : vista is not much of an upgrade for a casual user, little fancier but thats it.

- fact2 : vista is x10 more stable and secure then XP

- fact3 : vista is BAD for gaming, XP still outperforms Vista in running almost every game.

- fact4 : since i installed vista i didnt get any spywares AT ALL, vs XP where i was bombarded everyday.

- fact5 : Apple never reacted so aggressively and stupidly against any Windows platforme til Vista was released, why? becase its the first time that a Windows looked actually BETTER than a MacOS, meaning that Apple is loosing its only edge and its last tower in its last castle.

- fact6:  Apple software dont have as many spywares, trojans and worms as Windows cause there are not enogh people using Macs to be considered as a viable, profitable target for hackers.

WoW is way from being the best game ever, and it is very hyped up.

if you wanna see what a great game that is not hyped up enough looks like, try EVE online.

Apple's vice president of iPod and iPhone product marketing, Greg Joswiak, believes that Sony and Nintendo's handheld devices are "in the past". In an interview over at T3, Joswiak said; "...the gameplay I think has surprised a lot of people, because it's not just the casual games. There are real 3D games, and it's hard to imagine we're only a little over 100 days into it. There are already so many games and as we look at it, to us it really seems this is the future of gameplay. Whereas a lot of these devices [Nintendo DS and Sony PSP] are more in the past. And a big part of that is not just the device itself, which is easier to carry, and has the touch display and accelerometer which is great for gameplay, but it's the electronic distribution of the apps as well."

and who gives a damn about what some Apple vive president said about gaming? knowing that he most likely wouldnt recognize an RPG amoung FPS's...

iPhone is indeed a good phone, iPod is just a hyped up stupidly proprietary mp3 player, and it ranks at the bottom of everybody who knows anything about thechnology's list of mp3 players.

apples strategy is : do marketing and sell regular crap as high tech, that works on hockey moms and on people who think that Apple invented mp3 players but will not work in a gaming industry where the performance is very visible.
