@shahid0317: Depends on the game. If a game that comes out in 10 years is scalable to take into account a wide range of pcs of different power then even 10 years from now you can still play that game with good performance with the same pc build in this article. But if they do like with crysis where they ignore most of all pcs world wide and make a game that can only run with hardware that don't exist yet and then go and optimize that same game for console with much weaker hardware, like the scorpio will be 10 years from now, and then don't release the same downscaled version of the game on pc, then yeah this pc build will be screwed. But that's if devs are dumb*sses and pull something like that on us.

@jergernice123: That's interesting. I'm very interested in the Scorpio. I had a look at the ps4 pro and the quality you get for the price, and i think it is very good, and i'm hoping the same for Scorpio. My estimates are based on what was presented in the video in this article and my experience as a pc gamer since 2009. Also i had a look at the specs of the scorpio and my pc build is more powerful than the scorpio and still games run like sh** on highest settings at 2560 x 1440 and that only gets worse as hardware ages. So my estimates to me are realistic. But i want to see how the scorpio looks and runs with optimized code. As a programmer i know that makes a big difference, and also i am not God and do not know how games will end up performing on scorpio. Just making an estimate based on personal experience and what i read about scorpio specs. If it's great i might buy scorpio because to be honest i am sick and tired of pc gaming where games crash, stutter, have frame rate dips, and again just crash. i played call of duty infinite on ps4 at my cousin's house a few weeks ago and the game was very smooth and i was very impressed with the performance. On pc it stutters and lags no matter what graphics settings i set it to, and this pulls me out of the game and instead of enjoying the game, i'm thinking is something wrong with my hardware. do i need to go buy another £400 gpu and get a sli motherboard to run this thing at a decent frame rate. but on ps4 i was like man i'm running around shooting enemies, enjoying the cinematic scenes and everything is fluid and i don't have to give a single thought about the hardware. it just works. So yeah optimization = better experience.

My estimate is that Scorpio will run most games at native 4K 30 fps, medium to low graphics settings, but players could be given the choice between 4k 30 fps and 1080p 60 fps (medium to low) or 1080p 30 fps with maxed out graphics settings. I think then it becomes more like pc where players have a choice of graphics settings and can adjust them based on preference. Except on pc you can adjust much more, down to every single graphics settings (not just presets), not to mention graphics card control panel settings and ini files. I hope devs give the same amount of attention to each preset on console so that they all run optimally without stuttering and frame rate dips because on pc this happens a lot. If not to say all the time in my experience since I started pc gaming in 2009, no matter if your hardware is the super computer Al from 2001 Space Odyssey, or if you play the game on the absolute lowest graphics settings and resolution. At one point it always runs like sh**. But still i prefer pc gaming than console. But let's see, maybe Scorpio will change my mind.

@puckhog27: I agree with all you said and feel the same. Just wish they would focus on making good games instead of releasing consoles every year. I really loved the Xbox 360 era. Great games came out during this time.

A new console every year. No games on them but as long as there's one every year it's fine.

@vuori2003: Loading speed depends on cpu (processing speed) and ram (type DDR3/4, speed). PS4 pro's cpu is about 30% faster than PS4's according to articles online. RAM is the same (although I see online that PS4 pro has 1 extra GB of ram not sure what that's used for). So ps4 pro should take around 3.5 min for the initial load. I see how they designed for most of the content to load from memory and other variables to be defined (procedurally or randomized) and used for gameplay. But having 2 - 5 min initial load time is, to me, only worth waiting for if you plan to play the game for at least 1 hour knowing other loading times will be 30 sec. Anyway, it's a design choice but ps4 pro players will tolerate this better due to a shorter loading time. If the game is really enjoyable I would not mind waiting. After all, I did play through all of Deus ex human revolution with the game stuttering the entire time. Because the gameplay and story were enjoyable. :)

The open world is too large. They need to break it down into smaller areas in order to avoid loading so much data into memory. However, they probably designed the game aspects (level, progression, story and gameplay) to use all the data in that level, meaning they need to load all that data anyway. So most likely they will not reduce the load time unless there is spare ram which they can use to allocate more buffer space to load data faster. This is a design oversight, or maybe done on purpose in this case, which should have been addressed at the conceptual stage of the game, before starting to program it.

@gunnmetal: lol, yeah i see what you mean. I actually thought that the end of your sentence would be: "... that it will be announced that scorpio 2 is out". This generation of consoles is a bit disappointing so far. Not a lot of great games out yet (small games library on current consoles) and they are already releasing other consoles. They need to focus on the games. Why do people buy consoles? To play games, not to buy consoles for the sake of buying consoles. I hope that after scorpio and ps4 pro they don't release any console for the next 10 years, and that a lot of great games can come out. Give developers enough time to master the hardware, instead of forcing them to have to spend time, effort and budget adapting to new hardware every 3 years. I really enjoyed the xbox 360 cycle. It was great. The quality of games that came out got progreesively better, not just visually but in design and gameplay as well. They released the hardware, now focus on releasing great games and taking advantage of all that new hardware.

@yukushi: I agree. Last time I went to the cinema was to see Ghost in the Shell a few days ago. I paid almost £12 for a ticket and two idiots, must have been around 16 yrs old, did not stop talking from the moment they walked in and then half way through the movie they just got up and left. They were talking the whole time and they were sitting in the row behind me. After the movie I went to the cinema counter and told them I wanted to make a complaint and explained, and the guy treated me with contempt saying there's nothing that they can do about this and acted like he was not interested in listening.Talk about a bad experience. The cinema was Vue. I prefer watching movies at my desk on my 1440p pc monitor eating or drinking something good, with 7.1 surround headphones on and not being disturbed. The only reason I go to the cinema is really to disconnect from my routine of work and house every day.

Other than that it's a shame Ghost in the Shell dropped at the box office. I really appreciated the movie. I think most people don't like, care about nor understand cyberpunk. Matrix must have been an exception. Actually I can't think of any movie with strong cyberpunk elements since Matrix, besides Ghost. They were talking about a Neuromancer movie online but it doesn't look like it will happen.
