[QUOTE="V4LENT1NE"][QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"] i've been using a laptop for a while for gaming, they're great. It's just more expensive. JigglyWiggly_
Thats the thing though, with the extra cash you can get a way better desktop. A lot of people new to gaming just think it will be cool to have a laptop that can game high end but in reality they are never really gonna carry it around that much so its pointless wasting the extra cash for less peformance.

i carry my laptop everyday to school ;p then i made my own sort of not real docking station for it one usb in the back, dual link dvi output, and power. USB connects to like 10 devices, usb ethernet, x-fihd usb sound card, WMO mouse, soon to be rosewill cherry mx red keyboard, ps3 controller, usb dvd drive, usb floppy, prolly more lol this laptop isn't heavy, so I wuv it.

and so what are you really gonna get involved with a game and give it your full concentration and enjoy it while stuff is going on all around you like it would be at college? i cant see you getting sweaty and involved playing a computer game in a university canteen while all the hot girls avoid you, you cant hear crap and your friends are about, interrupting you and talking etc. seriously the only point is so you can look cool for 5 minutes by showing it off but its useless as you wont be able to concentrate on anything in the game.

not to mention the problem that when its old, ie within 2 years, all you can do is buy another laptop. with a desktop, all you most often need to do is upgrade one component. in the long run youll probably use some parts of your desktop for anything up to a decade, your case and perhaps your psu if its good and things get more effecient. with a laptop you are rebuying these parts which you already have for no reason whatsoever, just throwing money away.

just dont. dont do it. you will be back in 6 months asking how you can upgrade your laptop. buy a desktop, get something twice as good for the money. or try and be the cool kiddo with the gaming laptop and pay through your nose for cr@p

no it means 19a.

for the sake of graphics cards atleast. you want one rail with alot more than 19a. for example i use a 650w with 52a on the 12v.

So I've stumbled across this mechanical keyboard: Corsair K90

I really like the aesthetic of it and after watching postiive reviews of it, I was wanted some feedback from people who have had extensive use with them )Not the K90 in particular, just mechanical keyboards in general).

I'm currently using a Thermaltake Tt Challenger and haven't even had it for a year yet. I'm generally happy with it but I'm curious about mechanical ones.

What are your opinions/experiences with them?

i play fps games at a professional level with a £12 microsoft keyboard. "gaming" keyboards really are a big waste of money. there is just no such thing as a gaming keyboard. just companies making products and earning 300% profit because of the "gaming" tag. they fit a hole in the market because alot of new pc gamers think they need a special gaming pc with special "gaming" parts to be competative. pay more if you want one with more buttons, thats about all i have to say. make sure you have a good mouse, mouse mat, sound, headphones and ofc graphics though.

pentiom 4 3.0ghz

2gb ddr2ram

gtx 550ti

I want it to maxout call of duty 4 and the lord of the rings, is't possible with this rig?

can it run battlefield 3 and gta 4?

you can only change the graphic card, my resolution is 1366x766

akam-war

youll probably come close to maxing cod4. no chance bf3 or gta 4. that processor is ancient and the graphics card isnt great either, not to mention only 2gb ram.
