1. It works. My Xbox console freezes during games and/or asks me to insert an Xbox game disc in the tray when I already have one in there. From the horror stories out there, it appears those problems aren't completely resolved in the new version of that machine.
2. Blu-Ray. Yeah, it's not a game. But yeah, it also looks great. The only problem I see is changing out my 500 DVD collection for 500 Blu-Rays (that'll cost a pretty penny)
3. FF/MGS/etc... etc... Those trademark series. I assume they'll make their way over to other consoles in time. (Why limit your audience if you're the company creating those games?) But there's no need to wonder with this system.
4. Graphics. What can I say? I like eye candy. And if top notch graphics are what you're after, there are only 2 choices. 1 choice is remaining if Point #1 (above) is important to you
5. History. Not exactly the brightest idea using old consoles to guide your new console purchase. But I was unimpressed with my old Nintendo console and highly critical of my old Microsoft console. In contrast, I have nothing but good memories from the purchase of my old, original PlayStation. And like the poster above noted, why break with tradition? ;)
