So basically anytime you go to a different computer your going to have to get an activation code? Total lameage.

Um, more like total awesomeness? Have you noticed how many accounts have been stolen?

Nope. My Steam account is from 2003 and has never been hacked. My WoW account is from 2004 and has never been hacked. Those are pretty much the big games. But nothing of mine has ever been hacked. I use avast anti-virus and that's it. I don't go to stupid sites or click on stupid links. That's how most people get hacked.

I am trying to set up World of Conflict on my friends account on my other computer.

Before I can even login I get this Steamguard message saying I need an email activation code just to login? Well now I have to wait until he's home from work to even login now.

I never got this problem when I logged on to his account on my main computer.

Can I bypass this? My main computer has Windows 7, the other is XP.

I don't think I have ever had Steam ask for for a CD-key, regardless if LAN or just playing alone.

I play Fallout 3 and everytime the game loads up it shows "this game requires a cd-key" and it has a box with my key in it. But if I just press shift tab it goes away.

** I know how to set offline mode. I wasn't sure with newer games though if it would have some authentication or something even for LAN.

Is it possible to play a game on one person's Steam account but both of you logged on? Such as both on offline mode playing a LAN game? My friend told me he had World in Conflict, so I wanted to put it on both the computers and play LAN. I would think you could, but I am not sure since it's a newer game and maybe it will want seperate CD-keys even for LAN.

Generals is okay. I liked the other C&C's better. Generals was the last good game of the entire series.

I always felt superweapons ruined RTS games.Nick3306

I agree to a point.

But I specifically want this for coop. We are just having fun and I love massive obliteration.

I haven't really seen any realistic superweapons anyway.
