uh no we can't have a middle point. "just press play" and how hard is it to just select a server and play? Dedicated servers are 1000000000000000000000000000% better. It has nothing to do with mods. Dedicated servers are stable, always up, good ones are always full, you can find you friends right there and people you like, etc. No problem to deal with hackers, ban them for good and never see them again. Once you find a server you like you won't have to search for other servers again. No press to play bs.[QUOTE="sexygirl6t9"][QUOTE="FelipeInside"]
Can't we just find a MIDDLE POINT?
Have the IWNet (but improved of course) for the people who just wants to go in and play.
But also have dedicated servers for mods and the like.

As for your comment "but that's the exchange you make on PC. If you want the console experience, get yourself and Xbox with a XIM3, plug it into your monitor, and boom, you will have console gameplay with keyboard+mouse for every game you'd want" That's just wrong. Just because someone wants to play on PC instead of consoles doesn't mean it has to be more complex. Also doesn't meant they aren't allowed to ask for just a PLAY button and automation.

Sounds very much like "it's your way or the highway". Just because you like it doesn't mean it's the golden rule. I agree dedicated servers are great, but a good non-dedicated server programmed the right way works too....consoles use them all the time.
I had that with both dedicated and IWNet. If we get right down to it...I found games easier on IWNet, but when on Bops, my favourite servers were sometimes empty and I had to go through the list of unknown servers to find a game.

[QUOTE="SF_KiLLaMaN"] I'm pretty sure you can turn mods off with the filter in CoD 4....FelipeInside
In fact, it defaults to off, so unless you manually change it yourself, you would never find modded servers in the first place.
To Dakan45,
If you seriously think CoD4's multi-player sucks because it has too many modded servers, then you are kidding yourself. One of the biggest advantages of PC gaming is the ability to customize your game. If you don't want to play modded servers, don't play them, it may take a minute or two to set up your filters and find a decent server, but that's the exchange you make on PC. If you want the console experience, get yourself and Xbox with a XIM3, plug it into your monitor, and boom, you will have console gameplay with keyboard+mouse for every game you'd want. There are thousands of servers in CoD4 without mods and thousands with them,
