[QUOTE="Ownsin"]guys horizontal is more safer than vertical so make sure you always have your ps3 horizontal!jtickner

How is it more safe when the console is designed for both? As long as it's in a safe place where it can't be knocked over it's all good. Mine's been standing tall for over half a year and I've had not 1 problem.

It was indeed designed for both. But it is a proven fact that making the disc spin vertically causes a bigger strain on the mechanics of your system, yet it won't make a big difference. When the standard system would work flawlessly for 4 years if used horizontally, by using it vertically it might cause a defect a month or two sooner. But by then the PS3 is gonna cost a lot less, so no problem :D

Well mine only crashed with Assassin's Creed and I know I wasn't the only one.

Also the browser was unstable in the beginning, but that seems fixed now.

If your PS3 just crashes without playing a game, I would return him.

When does he crash?

Actually it would be better to have some extended support for multimedia files (I can't even count how many times I have tried opening a file just to see ''unsupported format") and the PS3 browser could use an update too.

Several sites simply don't work correctly like this site, with errors like "update flash player", or at all like the hotmail site and support for Quicktime would be nice as well.

Because if Sony wants to sell the PS3 as THE multimedia machine it should try to support THE multimedia.

Don't get me wrong it already supports a lot of different formats, but more would be even better.

Yeah it might be your controller.

If you know someone with a PS3 as well, ask them if you can borrow their controller and see if it gives the same behavior.

Clearly many of you lose sight of how big of a change this is. Making the XMB attainable from in-game requires some serious memory swapping so that both the game and XMB features are functional at the same time. This could lead to unstable systems and out of memory errors and I'm certain none of you want that.

Let Sony go ahead and improve the system gradually. They'll release it when it's ready.

Yea, errr if you've seen home, you'd know its not hard...

Yeah and that's why they've released Home already

Yeah Europe gets it shafted where the sun doesn't shine.

If it ain't a delayed release for a game or a console, then they simply don't release it here or shift it 6 months to 2 years later. This ain't a case of drawin' the smallest straw, we simply don't get one.

Well there is actually for as far as I've experienced no lag whatsoever on the servers. Even while connected wirelessly.

LibertySaint

so releasing the system a year later then the 360 and it had wthe in game guide and the ps3doesn't, a year later still and the interface still is not ready or i should say up to snuff makes the ps3 a very powerful machine with a very freindly interface :rolls: i do like the xm main dash tho.

I wouldn't go comparing Microsoft with Sony when it comes to making an OS. I think we can agree that MS has a small advantage there.

And I'm not saying that Sony shouldn't have implemented it by now, but I can imagine that it requires a lot more effort to get this to operate now, then it would have been when it was meant to be in the initial OS functionalities.
