@cboye18: I liked what the prequels did for the EU, especially the book series. I went and saw them, and even enjoyed the last two more than most. I think the worst of Force Awakens is comparable to the best of those. I'm not sure if I like Episode VI more than VII. Would have to see TFA again and much like you I'm in no rush, although the deleted scenes do entice me.

Serious question: Is it the smartest decision to release anything on April 1st (ever)? If I was in marketing, that would be the worst day in the calendar year. Or maybe no one cares.

EDIT: No commentary, either? Man, times have changed.

@slappy54: Hitler had relatives and friends, too. No one cares or cared about them in 1945.

@Evan21 @RicanV "Force?" Did she Clockwork Orange your eyes? Did she put a gun to the back of your head to make sure you either read every word or viewed every second or both of the review? Take some fucking responsibility for your own decision to read/view this review if you don't like it FFS!

@coolbeans1 @sharksalsa "Please try to contain your feeble attempts at snark to situations that don't make you look like a fool." - Sounds like you're telling me what words to use yourself: How about trying to avoid being a giant fucking hypocrite before I take your request seriously? Explain how I misused the term cliché. Enlighten me. Also, try to explain how "lampooning," "social commentary" and "satire" have identical definitions, as your last two sentences seem to infer. Good luck with that, BTW.

@jd7904 @sharksalsa @coolbeans1 "pointing out flaws in our current mainstream media" without social, individual or corporate change is not satire. At best, you can call that "commentary" or "lampooning". My very simple point is that satire is something very specific, and everyone who is using it on this comment thread doesn't know the actual definition.

@coolbeans1 @sharksalsa Please avoid using tired clichés like "holding up a funhouse mirror to it" as evidence of societal or individual or corporate improvement. It isn't. Nothing's changed. Because it's not satire. In fact, the misogyny in the GTA series is the zero-cal, sugar-free version of how that shit plays out in the real world precisely because of its over-the-top nature. If anything, it's normalising the perspective that women are nothing more than cum-receptacles.

@coolbeans1 From Wiki: "Satire is a genre... in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, and society itself, into improvement". What social improvement has the GTA series accomplished? Please use words only if you know their meaning.
