@patriarcaram "and u took a few points because you didnt agree personally with some of the story or whatever" You mean, being a critic? Get a fucking grip: The game got 9/10. You're losing your shit because you're an insecure woman-hating loser. Sad and pathetic. You will never be loved with your attitude. You're walking down the road of isolation and increased mental illness. Good luck with that.
@SillySkeleton From Wikipedia's entry regarding satire: "Satire is a genre... in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, and society itself, into improvement." I'd be ASTONISHED if any of the misogyny in the game is deployed to call-out sexism in modern American society or to improve the depiction of females in games. That would implicate far too many of the game industry's developers, publishers and gamers.
@gamemaven @xMeiu @Lord_Tulak_Hord Actually, the reviewer is saying the Ken dolls are much better-developed characters than Barbie and friends, and that's a problem. Nothing more, nothing less. Feel free to disagree. Try to do so without frothing at the mouth and revealing your gender insecurities, though. For your own sake.
@xHellBoundx I'm going to bet my life the misogynistic content in this game is pretty blatant and inarguable, given how the franchise has played out so far. It's both delusional and factually-incorrect to infer otherwise. But, you know, you could actually read both pages of the review where the author states pretty precise examples.
@xHellBoundx People like you who don't understand how and why popular art criticism operates as a discursive regime should avoid making sweeping generalisations using barely-defined and therefore meaningless categories like "facts" as a basis for it. You're championing censorship merely because you dislike the content of the review you read, which is crypto-fascist McCarthyism all over again. Once you figure out that any critique or contestation by definition allows for rebuttal and reconsideration, get back to us.
@gamemaven @sharksalsa From my previous reply: "The point you're missing is that none of the low-life women in this game are nearly as interesting or richly-developed as their low-life male partners, and that's a problem for the reviewer. Doesn't have to be for you or me but it is for her."
Also, it's okay for you and me to be anti-cop, but the review can't because of... professionalism? WTF does that even mean? The second you're paid to have an opinion you're suppose to be pro-cop? That's borderline fascist philosophy.
