Well, i've never really valued the Rift for it's gaming purposes. I'd like to be convinced otherwise when it's released, but nothing so far has made me think it's not just motion controls for the new generation, i.e, a fad that does very little to actually advance gaming (if at all).

So Facebook buying it, and looking to expand it's horizons? sure, that sounds far better.
