alright, well...
the achievements: i don't know... are you sure you got the 100 in RANKED matches?? i got all of my achievements at 100 on the dot, at the end of the match that i got the #100 (a couple surprised me, like the torque bow and boomshot, because you can't see how many you had and i didn't think i had enough).
your connection problems: i don't know about those either, i don't really seem to have any of those problems... once in a while i'll try to join a game that already has like 5, 6 people in it, and i'll get a connection error message, but i just think they filled up before i tried to get in.
the players: well... this isn't exactly gears fault... do you think that people should have to pass a personality test before they're allowed to play online? not likely that will happen anytime soon... yeah, it sucks that people leave, but oh well, nothing anyone can do about it, except stop leaving.
the host advantage: here is where i finally agree with you. now, i know that most games will have a host advantage, which is fine. but most games the host advantage deals with 0 lag, due to them being the host. which results in more accurate shooting, etc... but in gears? WHY THE HELL do they have a damage boost as well? this will drive me absolutely crazy sometimes... i think that is the worst decision they made regarding the online gameplay. a host with one shotgun shot can drop you from 10 feet away, but it will take you three shots from 5 feet away... i don't like it, and i don't understand it's purpose, but oh well, we just have to live with it until they patch it.
finally, i was thrilled that they made it so you can't play with your friends in ranked matches. that's great that you all have friends who play gears, but i probably wouldn't still be playing it online if everygame i went into, someone said, "hey, go to locust, my friend needs to be on my team." that has no place in ranked matches, teams that already have strategies, and have played together a lot. go play in player matches, in ranked it's all about your skill, not your team's skill.
