If Sony lead the console race without a strong competitor against its product, we'd get a $700 console that was hell to program for and was host of the most sub-par online service to yet exist.

@bforrester420: Not exactly. One priced itself out of the console race and into the land of elitist luxury goods. The other did not.

@bforrester420: That's Sony's arrogance. They treated their game console more seriously as a bluray competitor with Panasonic than as a game console competing with Microsoft.

@blueeyedcasva: I don't think the size install base of a platform magically translates to more sales... The Xbox 360 has a user base of 80 million and yet Witcher 2 sold terribly. Now Witcher 3 on Xbox One outsells that number with only a 10 million count install base.

When Sony was in charge, we got $700 PS3s at launch. No thank you.

You know PC gaming is awesome when people feel the need to match it up against multiple platforms combined. And ignore Steam sales on top of all that.
