[QUOTE="Ontain"][QUOTE="KeyWii"] DS is cheaper and has a gimmick and has always been Nintendo's market. Kids are in love with Nintendo handhelds, but people have lost faith in Nintendo Wii. And the reason Wii is in my username is to mock it. Saying "We" is okay, because that is actually how it's spelled, unlike the "Wii" which could also be pronounced Why?

who are these ppl that have lost faith? give it a rest. nintendo had the console market before ps1 but that didn't save it. if anything i've seen massive lost of faith in sony. even much of the press is unsure of it. that wasn't the case with the ps2 was it?

. I'm one of those people. The topic creator is right. The Wii could very well be the biggest flop in the history of gaming. The excitement around it doesn't make. It immune from flopping. People were excited about GC too.

[QUOTE="shsonline"]Everywhere I read, sheep and wii-supporters are saying people are giving the Wii "positive reviews" and crap like that. The truth is, we know next to NOTHING about the Wii. No one is going to outright say the Wii sucks, of course. They are POSITIVE about the PS3, they are positive about the 360. Maybe "optimistic" is a better word, but until actual games come out and are reviewed, please stop saying "everyone loves the Wiimote and the games". Some of the games that have had hands-on previews on this site have actually voiced concern about the Wiimotes responsiveness and having to adjust sensitivity all the time on games and being simple or hard to adjust to. So let's stop kidding ourselves with the "everyone loves the Wii" crap.nintendo-4life
:| ... there are many negative and postive reviews for Wii, however there are much more postive than negative. and the opposite has been with the PS3.... your logic fails

Actually it doesn't. I made my point that the Wii could very well be the biggest flop in the history of gaming, and that people who consider PREVIEWS gospel are idiots. You fail.

This thread is like the stupidest thing on the face of the planet... If this topic was anymore Stupider...it would have its own sitcom... Please wait for the Wii to come out before you become a selfproclaimed expert on how the Wii functions... I hate No-Life cows..who back a company that is willing to collapse smallers retailers ...hmm..such as Lik-Sang... http://wii.ign.com/articles/741/741410p1.html

Is it stupid? Or is it insanely intelligent? Its probably stupid to question authority in your opinion. First of all, I'm not a cow. I play 360, but I'm a human being. Not a stupid animal. Secondly, I bring the issue up that the Wii could flop BECAUSE of its hardware, and IM the one being flamed like theres no way in the world this could possibly happen. Not too long ago there was a console called the N-Gage which was unlike anything before. There was also a Virtual Boy by the same company in question here. Both these were "revolutionary". Both were not traditional game machines. Both of them flopped harder than Bill Parcells manboobs when hes jogging.

The point is this. Just because "everybody says everybody loves the Wii" doesn't mean it couldn't be the worst flop in the history of videogaming. If you can accept this possibility, then you are halfway towards being normal.

[QUOTE="Goten_king"][QUOTE="HeedleGlavin"]What do you mean "we know nothing about the Wii"? :| We know everything there is to know. You and this topic fail.

Yeah... and besides.. where did you get the diea people were saying "good" things about PS3..... anyone remember the 360 launch.... everyone was flaming the 360.... wii is teh only one with a good press launch, but that really means nothing in teh gaming world so all of this is irrevolent.

Unless you can give me quotes where a launched home console failed, your post fails. No one flamed the 360. This is sheep propaganda. And then some guy above said the Wii got a Best of 2006 E3 award? He needs to back that up. Not everyone here is going to just go off of propaganda like sheep. Back it up.

[QUOTE="shsonline"][QUOTE="LVLLNKIM"]The TC makes a great point that people have been glossing over. 95% of all previews can be interpreted to be "positive" if one wished to. That's because it's a preview, and journalists are still hopeful about the game/system. Some people are looking at Wii previews and saying, "zOMG, anyone who even comes near a Wii says that they love it!" Yeah, by those standards, you could say the same thing about the PS3 or any given game that hasn't been released yet.

By my observations, the previews for the Wii have been pretty much par for course for the preview of ANY system. In other words, mostly positive with plenty of criticisms as well as praises. And I'm not sure that that's necessarily a good thing, since if the Wii really is to pull people away from games that look significantly better, it's gonna have to really wow them, convince them that it's the next big thing like the analog stick did. And that's just not happening, according to the previews.

Thank you. At least one reader is not getting defensive about addressing a valid point. Maybe if you pull off the fanboy shades, you'll understand that I could give a **** about Nintendo, I'm just pointing out something as a nonbiased consumer.

so what, previews are now worthless and we shouldnt listen to them, its not just media whom we get impressions from, its also gamers, casuals and hardcore and isnt this true to all consoles? your just trying to pass a nintendo bashing argument behind it, pathethic

Did I SAY they were worthless? No. I said with a product not officially released, you take it with a grain of salt. The Wii runs the risk of being a flop more than any other console to date. This is why they had to cut back on the expenses for the actual technology and go in a different direction entirely. Imagine a console that flops BECAUSE of its controller. Games are going to flop, naturally, but you have twice the risk of flopping when you also have a non-traditional controller to work with as well. You know how some games just fit well with certain consoles? This could be the demise of the Wii, and until it comes out and we actually get a REVIEW, not a PREVIEW, you know NOTHING. All the praise in the world is charity. Nothing more.

My point is this...the same thing that has been said about the Wii has been said about EVERY console since the dawn of time. "Wow, this looks good. Wow, this has potential. Wow, this game seemed fun."

Give me one example of an instance where in a gameshow someone has said, this console sucks and looks like it has no potential at all. Don't even bother buying one. You Wii people are just trying to get assurance from the media when you don't understand that this is STANDARD BEHAVIOR,

When the Wii goes down to 150.00 I'll probably get one. Unfortunately, the Wii is not next-gen. Even their own company admits that. LOL @ "new gen". I consider it a gamecube 1.5 but its a brilliant move. If you can't compete with the other systems out there, you go in a different direction and pretend you're doing something "revolutionary". Wii is a lazy attempt, if they were serious about competing with the big boys they would have made the technical aspect comparable. If you really want to compete, you make a product that gives people no reason to consider taking another brand over it. With Wii, there are just too many things that the other consoles have that Wii DOESN'T. I don't want to be playing a Xbox like system in 3 or 4 years. That's like playing a PS one when the gaming standard is PS2/Xbox.
