Why would they hate Microsoft considering their games sell very well on the system? I think you are confusing a company run by adults to the way a forum is with a bunch of fanboys.rybe1025If you think companies with competing interests don't hold grudges, youre wrong.

No one complains about the 360's lackluster backwards compatibility.
See if Sony puts BC in the PS3s again, the price of the thing will go up and guess what? More people will complain about the price being too high.
MS does not include BC because they know it increases the price of the 360, thats why their consoles are cheaper.
If you want to play PS2/Xbox games flawlessly, then go out and get a PS2/Xbox.

360 has BC but there are 2 things to remember.
1) You need a HDD and Internet access to download updates for most X-Box (1) games.
2) Not all of those emulation updates work well.
I have no idea if Sony is working on Emulation software but PS2 games have been notoriously difficult to emulate in a proper manner.
Still a huge hassle. At least the 60GB and 80GB(MGS 4 Bundle) play PS2 games outta the box without all the hassle of doing all that.
This is like complaining the 64 is not BC with the SNES and NES and complaining about how terrible SNES and NES graphics look compared to 64's.
If you want to play PS2 games, try to find a BC PS3(its pricey), buy a PS2(game in SD not HD).
Yeah I understand where you are coming from with the comparison to SNES, etc. The point is that the price of a console is going to drop over the duration of its cycle, except never before has a console dropped over time and then a core feature removed to cut the costs to the company. For the limited library that XBox had, those games all play well over 360. Meanwhile all of the 360 consoles are standard with how they deal with BC. Meanwhile, PS3 just takes the feature out altogether even though they are still producing emotion chips for PS2s, and why? To save their production costs. It urks me that somebody else with a PS3 can go and put in a PS2 disc and it works, and meanwhile I have to go hunt for a used, overpriced discontinued one to have the same feature as them.No one complains about the 360's lackluster backwards compatibility.

[/QUOTE Did Microsoft go and make one console with backsards compatibility and without it. Are they discontinuing a SKU originally offered at launch and offering a next generation version without that feature? That's fine if Sony decided they want to make a next gen with BC or make it without it. But don't go and discontinue the feature which is a major selling point because you overpriced your console and the previous console has a more impressive library than your current one so you want to force people to stop playing PS2 games and cut costs at the same time.back in the Xbox days?
I always see them use the press to praise the PS3 and the Wii...meanwhile most of their games sell the most on the 360.

No there are not. I'm talking about total, not just the ones they are actively producing. And yes, it is complicated for the consumer who just wants to get standard features no matter what "version" they get. Of course I can play my PS2 but I would prefer not to waste an input, pull out wires and boot up a machine that for the most part is only an occasional form of video game entertainment. Especially when there are others with the same machine I have that don't have to put up with not having it.There are only 2 SKUs... The 80GB and the 160GB. Is it really that complicated?
And if you have an extensive PS2 library, doesn't that mean you already have a PS2? Can't you just play your PS2 games in your PS2?

Well too bad. They sold BC PS3's and no one bought them. Should have bought them before.
LOL Ok Sony spokesperson. Maybe no one bought them because they were OVERPRICED and struggling from a lack of good software. But hey, that's my fault too.
I had no such thing such a creation existed. Thank you kind sir. I will be purchasing one shortly. For those who are getting it on the 360 and don't want an Arcade Stick should get this as well:
Especially if you're going to get other fighting games. Hell I would get it for the PS3 as well because of the 6 button layout. Much like the Saturn controller which I feel is the best pad for fighting games.
