And they'll be put in jail or prison, and have their child taken away.

First off you obviously ignored pretty much my entire post.

I said I've never seen it used properly, obviously it's possible it has been used properly a few times, but the majority of times spanking is used is simply because the parent believes they're right and thus because the child won't listen they hit them.

That's not how you properly spank someone... as it doesn't teach them anything aside from to hide things from you, and not argue with you, and essentially have a less open relationship with you.

The parent who hit the other parent, is in the wrong, as that was AWFUL to demonstrate to their child, that violence is OKAY, plus he was an idiot, because only idiots can't deal with their problems without violence.

Spanking by majority is not used properly, and at the least Humanity needs 50 - 60 years to become more intelligent and mature, before they try it again.

i understood your post , but i should have been more discriptive with my. i was giving an example.

i was in a mall sitting on a bench waiting for a friend to come out of a store. there was a child sitting on the bench across from me playing with a hand held game. another couple came by with kids of their own. these kids were loud, spoiled and cursing. the parents told the kids to sit on the bench and wait until they came out. * fast forwards*

the 2 kids were sitting on the bench bothering the other kid playing his game. the lonechild finally gets upset and starts mouthing at the 2 trouble makers. they start fighting and the parents come running out of the stores. the father of the 2 little meanies pulls the kid off of one of his sons and the kid starts crying. during this time the parent of the lone boy finally comes out of a store seeing his child crying draped by the collar by this strange man....* sigh * do i need to say more...it gets ugly ....all because these 2 little ones have the power over their parents. some kids just need to be whoop...i admit some dont need it but hell if they all dont.

Sigh, I'll repost this since you're all too ignorant to read the entire thread.

Spanking has become a way to punish children and even teenagers, just because they disagree or don't go a long with what the parents state (and parents can be wrong, especially if you have an intelligent child) and that is unacceptable.

Rarely if ever is it used as a method of teaching, instead of punishment or pain.

You don't punish children, you go out and buy them ice-cream and talk about what happened.

Sigh, it's pathetic that people would want spanking to actually remain, because I've never seen it used as it should be, or even be effective when it's used as it shouldn't.

Kids may fear it, and thus they may not do what angers their parents, but that doesn't mean they agree with what they aren't doing, and thus they'll do it when their parents are away, and perhaps they should.

In truth the fear of being spanked encourages children to hide things from their parents, not tell them.

The point is that spanking should be banned, until such a time that the world has become mature and intelligent enough to use it properly (50 - 60 years at the least), and not in the aggressive and punishing manner that it is used for now.

spanking is very effective. i speak from experience and know ppl who have been spanked turn out to be decent ppl. i see these parents talking to their kids in public saying crap like "time out" and as soon as the parent turns their back the kid is at his/her bad ways again. i was in a mall one time and saw this kids father get knock out by another kids father because his child was unruly and disrespecting other ppl. if you can't discipline your kid with words then spank their ass......or someone else will do it for you and possibly yours too while they're at it

yeh, i think we are. who is to say we all have to act a certain way, and if you dont some will look down on you as if they were better then you, pffft....followers always think like this. times are changing and the system needs to change with the times. gone are the days where everyone wore suits and long dresses, gone are the days where every one dance and listened to the same type of music. we are just now starting to express ourselves as individuals, but, some that are stuck in their organized slaved ways just can't break the ignorant bonds that binds their supposedly free thinking mind.

recordings need to be precise with no flaws for constant listening. live is better when seen in person because you get to see the artist put their feelings into the music...but more times then often the performance isn't as good ( sound quality wise ) due to minor individual mistakes in the band, flaws in the ambiance or the artist performance being tiresome.

haha, all the world leaders and figure heads have their thing. i dont like the kissing of the popes ring, or the arrogant ways of the queen of england ( give me a picture of yourself? wt...) and bowing down to someone is just as bad.... imo. but itz all out of respect and if you're not pressured to do it then there shouldn't be any embarrassment. but, if it was customary for everyone todo the same for Obama....how many would do it? hmmm...

some of these kids today need a good foot ( or 2 ) in their ass. they are trouble makers, disrespectful, spoiled, ignorant little buggers. if i could transform my self into a child willingly... i would whoop so many of these pesky little runts asses and enjoy it.

i don't know many ppl that thinks he is the messiah but i know many are hoping for change and a new look in the white house. Obama is smart, displays class and seems to know what to say when to say it. giving the short amount of time he has been in office, he has gain much respect around the world...can't say the same for every prez America had. but, it never fails. every time i come to this board there's a thread about Obama doing something that they dont see fit. i cant even remember seeing a topic giving him credit..... even thou he is well liked by many all around the world. plus, he haves many difficult tasks to deal with ( which the previous presidents left behind ) and all ppl here can do is bash the very person trying to fix the things they probably had a helping hand in braking, he is the only person who stepped to the plate with the right credentials, the only person brave enough to take on the presidency in these bad times....and what do ppl here do? wish failure on him when he is still brand new in office. i thought ppl were suppose to support their leaders... in fact, these same ppl thats whining dont even have a better plan of their own or offer any good suggestions to help out their own prez. but as soon as Obama slips on one word, or trips over a crack in the side walk....they come running to this board like itz the world summit....pathetic. and i'm almost positive these very same crying ppl never typed a letter to their congressman but will sit here throwing sissy fits on a gaming board. haha, i'm beside my self...... laughing with myself at the envious ppl making fools of themselves.

[QUOTE="Bourbons3"]People's expectations for Obama are way too high.Pirate700

People's expectations were what Obama set them at. The sad thing is people actually believed he as going to follow through. Obama was like the kid running for class president promising no more homework and ice-cream sandwiches for lunch and when he get's elected he doesn't do anything of the sort.

well, thats politics for ya. honestly i don't trust any politician....but i did hear him talking a bout Afghanistan on a few occasions so he made due on that....so far.everything else like the economy and health care will have to take time. this wasn't his mess, he's just trying to clean it up.....which is just not going to happen over night. i'll wait until i can clearly see the results of his decisions before i bash him. right now, i just don't see them...
