No, but if you're running Windows and not careful.. it will do the opposite of warming up. :)

I just bought the Dell U2311H for my grandparents. Only downside is that it's "Full HD 1080P".

Being 1080P is a downside?

Well, in my opinion only. I don't see any benefit in the reduced height, increased width, reduced pixel count, and slightly reduced screen size compared to 1920x1200. Not that I have a choice - there are hardly any 16:10 low/mid-end panels manufactured anymore.

You can do a LOT better for ~$300. The Dell U2311H, for example.

and since when was $275USD in 07 considered high-end? then where does my $800AUD monitor from 06 fit in?

No, assuming you have an old sd tube (you said it's blurry).

Make sure to use driver sweeper or an equivalent in safe mode to wipe off any previous drivers.

Have you pulled the cord while the headphone is inside your ear?

It'll be easy. All you need is a DVI -> HDMI adapter or use the tv-out adapter with component cables. The Mac Pro comes with a 9500GT for $2,500, so that should be good enough. IMHO, text may not look so good at 768px and 26".

EDIT: monoprice.com is a good place to buy wires

Dell tech specs says the video card is an HD 3650. Did you add a new one? It's a minitower, so I don't think any newer high-end graphics cards will fit. Take a ruler and estimate how much space you have for a video card. The slot is PCIe x16, which should be fine because I don't think you'll exceed the bandwidth without maxed AA, AF, resolution, etc. The power supply is 300W (LOL), so you'll need to check what size power supply you have and find a decent replacement for 600-650W+. If you add a new video card that canplay Crysis without lag, you're going to have to worry about cooling. From the pic, it looks like there's probably an 80mm fan behind (which is poor cooling).

This is the page I looked at:http://www.dell.com/us/en/gen/desktops/desktop-inspiron-545/pd.aspx?refid=desktop-inspiron-545&s=gen
