Pointless for home use with that high resolution. 1080p is pretty much pointless on anything smaller than 50"Radiozo
I am so sick of hearing this. So everyone who games on computer screens, is pointless to game in 1080p? Oh, and if you are going to say "well they sit close to the screen, its different", that doesnt make sense either. It doesnt matter how big it is, it is how far you are viewing from.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/07/14/l-a-noire-xbox-360-top-june-npd-charts-3ds-sales-sluggish.aspx

While we don't know the sales for PlayStation 3, Xbox spokesman Major Nelson tweeted "Just saw the #NPD's Xbox sold 507k consoles in June, nearly 2x the nearest competitor."

Nintendo had a rougher month, selling 386,000 Nintendo DS units, 273,000 Wiis, and a paltry 143,000 Nintendo 3DS units. That 3DS number should be a little disturbing considering the fact that it had a bona fide triple-A title in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on store shelves.

3DS "the gimmick" looks like the next virtual boy. I bet within a year of Vita's release it will have sold more than the 3ds. R.I.P. 3DS

[QUOTE="NoodleFighter"]

How come PC gamers can't use PC/360 or PC/PS3 against console gamers?

xMinijackx
Because we have so many exclusives we don't need to :D

wrong. What exclusives do you have that are AAA?

No im pretty sure its 1080p

No it isn't, very few games are 1080p on consoles, most are upscaled to that resolution.

virtua tennis 3, perfect dark zero, and nfl street are 1080p

480 looks horrible. Period

theuncharted34

Well when I get that 1080p plasma (Ive never played a game in hd), I will do a test. Ill Play Gears 3 a 480p, and then play Perfect Dark Zero at 1080. While PDZ will be sharper for sure, GEars will still have better graphics. DO you not get this guys?

Perfect dark zero runs at 1152x640.

OH MY LOL. Please stop with this thread then

[QUOTE="slarkyslark"][QUOTE="lightleggy"] lol see what im saying? you dont know anything you speak of. first of all if its displaying on a lower resolution than native is called DOWNscale, not "upscale" secondly there is nothing that says how good a tv can upscale, there are obviously some great tvs at doing it but there is no unit to meassure it or any scale. you say that if something that is of a higher resolution than the tv can stand, the tv will show it at 480p, this is true and its called downscale and it does not improves detail at all, however this does not exists with HDTV because they are higher res, they can display 480p, just not native. again you are wrong at everything you sayKrelian-co

Oh really. Ok so take for instance Perfect Dark Zero for 360. It is native 1080p. Now take Gears 3 which is 720p. Gears 3 look CLEARLY better even though its lower res. This same argument applies to 480p.

[QUOTE="lightleggy"][QUOTE="slarkyslark"][QUOTE="lightleggy"]oh and completly forgot this... if TC says his idea is for people who own an SDTV...why does he wants to buy a 4k HDTV? he pretty much killed his own expectations for better graphics with that statement...ok so tc you say this should be done for people with SDTV yet you are planning to buy one of the most expensive HDTV just to make your games look like crap with your own method?

That tv will have an upscaler that is so good, its like playing on a native 480p screen. Maybe you should read about it before deeming me something?
