@Stebsis no they do not, silent hill and souls reaver have pre-render cutscenes as well with in game engine ones, deadly premonition doesnt same with the walking dead. Spending a lot of money doing cutscenes doest make the game better you dont need pre render cutscenes (and yes again they do cost a lot of money!) to make a great game. My point was that games do not need to spend a lot of money on pre-render cutscenes just to be great they are a simple add-on nothing more, when a game depends only on them it is not a game it is a movie or a bad game.
@Kyrylo deus ex, half life, portal, ico, shadow of the colossus, amnesia, the walking dead, deadly premonition etc etc and no, in game sequences made with the same engine that you play the game dont count as cutscenes because they dont cost anything like to make a pre-render cut-scene. I'm not saying that great games dont have cutscenes much of them have them, soul reaver, silent hill 1, dark souls etc etc but they do not need them to be great games they dont depend on the cutscenes to be great games. When a game is good it doesnt need a cutscene, take it away and it will still be good, it just add something extra but doesnt depend on it, take away the cutscenes on silent hill or dark sousl and you will still play the game and enjoy them as much as you did before
