this is a good question for JigglyWiggly :)

you could set up a fiber channel raid array, those things are dirt cheap nowadays, and as long as you have to buy a card anyways, it might be worth looking into...
I would revise it to Mint or Vista?
then I would suggest fluxbox mint, and if you are gaming, be sure to download and use the latest version of wine...
GL,

I would suggest backing up all your files, and then do a clean reinstall, its a pain, but theres a chance something got corrupted.
[QUOTE="slayerpker"]Rivatuner works, however you might have to alter the log for it to recognize your card.... Which card do you have???

I'm using an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 1gbIf your using an ATI card then it already has a program for showing GPU heat. Not sure if the same is for NVDIA cards. I recommend HWMONITOR. Its free

Nice. I have the 4650 in my laptop, runs pretty well.
To get Rivatuner to work with a mobile card, you have to do a couple things,
1.download and install rivatuner, but don't run
2.download and run GPU-Z
3.go to the folder where you installed rivatuner, and copy the file "rivatuner.cfg" and paste it on your desktop.
4.in GPU-Z, note the Device ID (will be 1002-xxxx)
5.open Rivatuner.cfg with notepad and scroll to RV730. under this, start a new line and insert the device ID, following the pattern of the other entries.
6.paste the cfg file into the rivatuner folder, overwriting the previous one. now, if you run rivatuner, it should run properly and give you OC options, along with heat, clocks and other information.

haha, this is so true
What's with a ll the Windows 2000 hate :( It was a total beast, infact a lot of people still use it because it's very light and extremely similar to XP. It's just a shame that it has a few networking flaws(no TCP/ip protection)I agree... I currently run it on 3 of my machines, 1 being a server. I have never had too many issues with it, however it lacks in the area of networking. But then again if you need a machine for networking, why not just use linux??

It all depends on what you build. I just built a mid-line computer for a client running a 4670 and Athlon II 215 for about $415USD...
