@lostn: I can't agree with this enough. Going from the astro A40s with the mixamp pro to a pair of Sennheiser 598s, there is no comparison. Even with the "7.1 surround sound" on the Astros, the positional accuracy is far superior on the Sennheisers. I find myself telling my teammates the enemy locations solely from audio cues.
@akassassin11: It actually does have a lot to do with standards. Once one is accustomed to 60+ fps, it is jarring and sometimes nauseating to backtrack. If someone is satisfied with input lag and a stuttery "smooth 30 fps" then they literally have lower standards than someone who requires 60 fps. It is fine if you are okay playing at 30 fps, but it does bother me when someone justifies it with "the cinematic effect" argument.
@Wiro_: That would be more for pop-in. Transitional areas with traditional load screens are 90% reliant on hard drive speed. See SSD vs HDD in Skyrim load screens on youtube. These tests were done on the same machine.
Then why don't we start offering exclusives to monitors or keyboards for that matter. All this does is divide the VR market and slow it's adoption rate.
