it does everything high def movies+games. what else could you ask for?

if i were you i would get the 80 gig ps3 for 399 because ps2 games aint needed at this stage of the ps3`s life. but if u need to play ps2 games i guess grab a used 60 gig or 80 gig. or the new mgs4 bundle any one u cant really lose

Yes it does. That wont effect it out scoring LBP.

You said outscore and outsell. If Banjo is out a month or whatever before LBP then I'd say chances are high that it will outsell LBP by the end of the year as you say.
