@rahmie0789 They're not saying Forza 5 has been in production for 10 years. They're implying that they've worked on the Forza franchise for 10 years and each one is an evolutionary step towards the next installment.
"The game takes place in 1984, when Snake is 49 years old. Therefore, we needed someone who could genuinely convey the facial and vocal qualities of a man in his late 40s."
David Hayter is 44. I think he could stretch himself to sound 49 somehow.
I LOVE Keifer Sutherland but this is a bit of a slap in the face to fans of the franchise. On behalf of just about anyone with common sense, David, we miss you and want you back.
@gbrading Still sold around 7 million copies though and was the biggest hit Atari ever had. It might have been a lonnng way from being arcade perfect but, when there's no alternative way of playing it at home, you bought it...and played it...a lot!
@mrboone01 They crushed them first so the eBay price should still be able to reach the dizzy heights of $6.00. However, if just once cartridge survives, maybe by being trapped in amber, then scientists could take the DNA from it and create a whole new breed of terrible games!!! Welcome...to Jurassic Cart!
@williebazerka @plm3d_basic Enduro, Bezerk,Defender, The Empire Strikes Back, River Raid, Pitfall, Missile Command...the list of fantastic games goes on and on.
By today's standards they look crude but in their day they were arcade perfect (or pretty close) and incredibly playable. I certainly put more hours into Vanguard, Phoenix and Super Cobra than i have into recent big-budget games like Tomb Raider and Sleeping Dogs.
@OldKye Well no, not really...i mean they DID release the game. Lots of people played it (including me..and i'll never get those hours back, by the way).
Atari just ordered a zillion more copies than they needed and they crushed the unsold ones after about a year after release.
@Mally127 Me too...actually just the end scene where they unearth the Ark. 'Don't look at it Marion! Keep your eyes closed!!' 'Itssss Beautifullll....eeearrrgh!!' etc.
@JRD1912 Lack of competition from other consoles, lack of channels on TV and so on made the Atari incredibly popular. I bet there's a few older gamers on here that remember when TV shows would regularly attract audiences over 15 million too.
