Honestly I could deal with the animations, but the interface is terrible. The forced landing/scanning cut-scenes are incredibly annoying as well.

I'm not done with the trial yet....so I will finish that before i decide to pick up the full game. Had I not played the trial I would have bought it without thought because I love the series.... but if a game is more annoying to me than fun...what's the point...

@atopp399: I love the soul's games but I usually play offline just to avoid the hassle of being invaded when I am trying to progress in the game.

If I am just mucking about (lore hunting, exploring, etc) I go online and plot ways to ambush invaders.

@jport7: I don't find them short on content....there is a lot of lore buried within the souls games. You are just required to look for it rather than have it stuffed down your throat like most modern games.

The Souls games aren't for everybody though, if you have a penchant for breaking things in your game rage...best to avoid these titles.

One of the benefits of owning my my own house.

I play console games too....well up until the latest generation...there is little to motivate me to pick up a PS4 or XBONE... all cross platform games run better on my PC (by a long shot) and there aren't enough exclusives that I want to play to warrant a purchase of a current gen console.

RE4, although introducing the newer style control setup and action, was still a great game.

Thus, when RE5 came out...many people (myself incuded) picked it up based on how kick ass RE4 was. (Even if my impressions after playing it were less than stellar.)

And that was the beginning of the end of RE as we knew it.

@hippystank: Not to mention the bad translation of some games (I'm looking at you Castlevania 2).

@nl_skipper: Retro cartridges can be expensive, because of their rarity or popularity.

Cartridges will be more expensive to manufacture than discs...but 8 16 and 32 bit games should be much less expensive than the AAA games that come out on modern disc and digital platforms.

Hard to say really, i guess it depends on the developers.

Speaking of developers...I hope there is enough interest to have new content come out on it..and not just re-release retro games.

@silversix_: Doesn't matter to me, I would love the souls games with King's Field graphics.

I will always prefer gameplay over visuals.
