@xolivierx I have both my 360 and ps3 hooked up to the same 32 inch display I use for my pc...and they don't even compete...so give it up.
Hell, the machine I had in 2006 was better THEN than what the 360 or ps3 could do...and the one I have now (built last year) stomps that one flat.
Not that I am a console OR PC fanboy....I love them all. RPGS and FPS games on the PC where they shine...and games better suited for a controller on the consoles (and exclusives).
I do agree they should either remove the cost, or change what the cost provides you...make it optional instead of mandatory for online gaming....pay for extras not for core features.
On that note...10 bucks a month is really cheap....even cheaper if you pay for the yearly.
The larger issue for me next gen will be the used game issue...as I simply will not buy a console that blocks them out.
The Wii was a fad...sold a bunch to people who would never have gamed otherwise...
Then when the newness wore off...sales dropped...
Gamers weren't the ones buying most of the consoles...so their software attachment was really low.
I picked one up...played about 10 minutes of Metroid, and 10 minutes of Zelda...and gave the system to my kids. I didn't (and still don't) like the motion controls mixed with first gen Xbox visuals.
Sucks really, I have been a fan of many Nintendo series since the NES...but the direction they went with the Wii was meh imo.
As for the Wii U...well... looks like they rushed it out to beat Sony and Microsoft to the next gen...but they failed...because it is NOT next gen.
