Seeing this game in videos makes it look as though you aren't really playing the game on rails. It's more like a first person experience, and the shaky cam is what I love. Makes it more terrifying and jumpy, almost like those Bourne series fight scenes.
Looks like they went for the "dissolve into sand" idea for the death animation for enemies. Good to see they changed it. Game looks top notch. I'll get it day 1.
I think Modern Warfare will reign. I recently played The Conduit, and I have to say, the single player is substantially lacking. The visuals were good, but not great, and the multiplayer aspect of the game is broken. The framerate dips too much, and there are people disappearing everywhere. It also lacks a sprint button, but that is a personal preference. I also don't like the sway that Mr. Ford has while moving. I played for about 3 hours, but couldn't get used to it. I'll go back and play some more, but I wasn't a big fan of it. Modern Warfare however, has the benefit of an already fun campaign, especially with people shouting, bullets flying by your head, and helicopters zooming by. It feels like a natural situation when you think about a warzone. The only thing against Modern Warfare is that it's a port from an old game.
Nobody liked Carbon? The only complaint I had about that game was the drifting physics were terrible. I LOVED NFS Underground. I played that game for like 12 hours straight once. BUT, we all know EA would never put that amount of effort into the game again. NFS Underground had exact engine sound effects, hollywood inspired special effects, an amazing soundtrack, and perfect balancing.
Holy. I remember all of them. I was around here, but I still knew about them. Especially the white controller with the "touch screen with tactile feedback".
If you aren't going to be playing on an HDTV, then you should have no problem with the lag. You could also try the in-game audio and video calibration, but since you will be playing on an SDTV, it shouldn't matter. As an owner of just the Wii, I can only tell that the online has vastly improved. It's nice to be able to get a full band online, coupled with the band moments, it gets really fun, especially if you are playing with people that are good. The PS3 version definitely takes the visual crown, but the Wii takes the crown for features. Roadie Battle is sooo much fun.
