So I previously owned a 44" Toshiba DLP HDTV which we we have had to put 3 new bulbs in within the last 4 years which has been a pain in the *** not to mention expensive. Recently we noticed the colors were a little off, reds were no longer reds and blues were more green. We called Bestbuy and they said seeing as we have the warranty, they would send someone directly to our house to fix the TV.
Few days went buy and we hadn't heard from neither Bestbuy or the Tech company who was suppose to fix our television. I called Bestbuy again and they faxed the info to the tech company and then got them on the line. The guy at the tech company told us he would only go and fix the TV if Bestbuy gave him mileage because we are approx an hour and a half away from them. Bestbuy looked into it and for some reason were unable to pay him mileage so he now wouldn't fix the television. The guy at Bestbuy looked into it and now the only option was to bring my TV in for an exchange. Rules were that the TV and recieved had to be atleast 44"+ and had to be atleast $1399.99, the original price I paid 4 years ago.
Now yesterday we brought the TV into Bestbuy and they took the TV, checked to make sure their was actually something wrong with it and gave us a $1399.99 gift certificate. We went to began looking at TV's. The guy helping us told us it was our lucky day, if we bought a TV 50"+, we would get a free in-home installation including a free wall mount, two component hook-up, and hiding the wires. We ended up purchasing a 55" LG LCD HDTV worth $2200, it was onsale for $1799, an in-home installation worth approx $300-$400, a wall mount worth $250, and the warranty worth $350....all for a whopping $850!
Just thought I would share that with everyone.
Carry on
