There's no mention of what sort of price cut he's considering. We know that the closer a price is to $0, the more likely it is to sell.

A price cut would certainly help, just as a price hike would hurt.

The Wii may not have impressed you, but it was commercially successful, even if technically behind. Nobody out there is saying the Wii is a technical wonder.

@Grenadeh If the Wii really was a novelty item, then taking these channels down would remove novelty factor, not increase it.

Some these channels were up for as longer than some entire console lifespans. This is not a failure by any stretch of the imagination.

@fanirama Your comment reads as if the Wii itself were being discontinued 2 months after launch... These are channels on the console that were never meant to be more than supplemental material to the games.

Besides, the Everybody votes channel was up for six whole years - longer than the Dreamcast itself was even supported.

Only evidence-based material can be accepted in this debate, beliefs about video games are just that: beliefs.
