@soul_starter: Just for the trolls, a direct quote "While we haven't had the chance to test its performance online, and thus aren't ready to offer a comprehensive review"
@sirposh: Like I said, they should have reviewed the single player portion yet they did not. I understand some of you are probably GS trolls hired to sound off against any negative comments, much like the guy who quoted the reveiw writer as saying "this is not a review" and then I quoted the actual writer, who said it was indeed a review.
the progress part, as teh writer himself explains, is to do with online mp, so why almost zero content on the sp experience? Were new modes added? New characters? No.
@sixsixtrample: At no point did they state "this is not a review." The very title states it is a review (albeit one in progress). Also, the writers own words:
"While we haven't had the chance to test its performance online, and thus aren't ready to offer a comprehensive review covering everything the game has to offer, we can say that Tekken's latest outing is a great fighting game offline that falls in line with the series' favorable reputation."
They themselves say it will not be a comprehensive review, not that it is not a review. Jeez, learn to read English before acting smart. Now, in terms of the progress aspect of the review, fine they don't want to talk about online. I get that but they barely offer any information on the single player/local mp aspects of the game. So my question still stands.
If GS want to keep going this route, they should have labelled it a preview. A terrible, click bait title is all this "article" is.
@chillingnaire: he is right that constant updating of an article like this garners more clikcs = more ad revenue. Like I said, they could have easily waited until the online could be properly tested before giving us a review. On top of all that, this is the worst quality review I have ever read. No talk about local mp options, no talk about the different modes, how many, what they are? No talk about the number of fighters, how many can be unlocked, how many will be dlc et.
So not only is the progress aspect of the review bs, the quality of writing and journalism involved is astoudingly poor.
@chillingnaire: They couldn't mention local multiplayer? And if online is such a big issue, why not just wiat until they can actually play the online segment? expredator is clearly correct.
This is a review? You have failed to mention the number of available characters, how many are to be unlocked and how many will be DLC. You have not mentioned what game modes are on offer, what teh difference between story and arcade is, whta fight money is all about and if it will include microtranscations and if there are any specific unlocks related to online play (which I refuse on consoles).
This is the worst review I think I have ever seen.
