@csward: It's just not on the level of "bigger" AAA releases. It's great fun to play if you pick it up for a tenner but at full price it sucks.

@sakaixx: Thats what I'm saying. If MS started off better iwth a straight forward message baout its gaming machine instead of all that gimmicky crap at the beginning, they would have built on the success of the 360 a lot better. Right now, I cant see MS catching up with SOny, they would literally have to double their sales.

I dunno...I just do not know. Yakuza always gets good reviews but I played one of the PS3 versions a few years back and everything felt so dated. Forget the graphics and animations for a second but the combat, the world, the game play...it was just so PS2 era. In fact, it felt like a side scrolling beat em up, it was that dated. Now, theres nothing wrong with picking up a game like this in a bargain bin but having paid full price, no, it's not comparable to other AAA releases in any way.

MS dropped the ball badly with the one. This could have been their gen, it was perfectly timed to gain people from sony over to their brand. Yet they sent out mixed messages, built a box that looks like a VCR and have not invested in big, AAA exclusives that happen to be new IPs too.

@phili878: I know it's 1080p on the tv screen but why is the portable screen 720? Mobile phones have better screen resolutions than that these days.

@deathwish026: the quality of game play and the graphical/resolution fidelity are 2 different things. Why not have best? The majority of the greatest games of all time were very good graphically and game play wise during their time. Why would you buy a console that comprises one or the other?

@streetmagik: My biggest problem is that I value being a gamer, not a console war/PC junky. I used to love Nintendo consoles, I grew up a little on the SNES and then on the PS1/2 and N64/GC. Now the latter ended up being an empty cupboard compared to what PS2 churned out but it was still a good enough console.

With the Wii on wards, Nintendo have just swung from one gimmick to another with no idea what market they want to target. Yes they have a rabid, obsessive consumer base, largely in Japan and it helps them to keep units moving and their handheld division is awesome but every main console looks/sounds/seems to be less and less spectacular.

The Wii U was probably the worst mainstream console I've ever played.
