I don't play much online but not because of silly kids online (the mute button exists). My 2 primary reasons ar:

1. Not enough time

2. BS paying for online services on PS4. So now I'll likely get Titanfall2 or BF1 on my PC and play them online.

None of those are bad scores, although the 6.5 user score on meta is very disheartening for Halo 5. I've played it and it's a decent shoot em up but it lacks the greatness of Halo 1 and 2 and the advancement in scale and options of 3.

GOW 4 is pretty much identical on meta, in both critics and users. I haven't played it yet but I guess its fair to say neither is great. Good certainly.

You can't compare X1 S sales to the slim version of a console that already exists. Wait till the Pro.

Huh? We compared Xbox One to PlayStation 4. Then we compare Xbox One S to PlayStation 4 Slim. When it comes to the PS Pro, we will compare that to the Scorpio.

Not really. The PS4 slim is basically the PS4 but smaller. The One S is more along the lines of the Pro, with 4K, HDR etc etc. I actually think its better because of having a 4k disc drive.

So the Pro will be compared to the One S.

With regards to Scorpio, that is a confusing element from MS and might actually be a new console.

Certainly one of the greatest and the overall package they were able to deliver last gen was just amazing. Each of the characters was well written, well acted and well controlled. Add to that the size of the world and the ability to do all sorts of crazy shit, you cant go wrong. From a technical standpoint, apart from the mp hiccups in the first month, it ran smooth as silk.

I'm genuinely curious as to what the difference is between 30fps and 60fps when you're actually playing a game?

MGSV was 60, whereas Mad Max was 30 or so, yet I didn't notice the difference, although MGSV was an overall better looking game, the fluidity and smoothness was identical.

huh? PS3 had superior hardware and consistently produced the better looking games.

LOL! Ah no.

I don't see how this is up for debate. The originally Xbox was regarded as more powerful than the PS2 but the same was never said or thought of the 360. Very few games last gen looked as good as the first party titles for PS3, in particular TLOU and GOW 3. It's a pretty much known fact in the industry. That's not to say the 360 was a bad console but it had its limitations.

There is no debate as far as performance goes. On paper, the PS3 had a more powerful cpu than the Xbox 360. however, according to digital foundry, most games on the Xbox 360 looked better than most of the games on the PS3. Games like Halo 4, GOW3, Forza 4, Forza Horizon 2 and multiplats like Battlefield 3 looked better than than exclusives on the PS3. It's a pretty much known fact in the industry. That's not to say the PS3 was a bad console but it had its limitations.

lol this is ridiculous

360 had better looking and running multiplats for most of the gen. PS3 had better looking exclusives after a few years in and some better multiplats later in the gen.

It was a weird case of the more powerful system (PS3) actually having worse versions most of the time.

@xantufrog said:

@soul_starter: it's pretty well established that multiplats looked and ran better on 360. The Cell was legitimately cool architecture, but it needed the amount of focus only a 1st party could give to really show off anything. I agree that the PS3 had some astonishing 1st party titles, but I don't think anyone could make a case for PS3 outshining 360 where multiplats were concerned

Well, I never played much 360 till years later but I heard from most that the multiplatforms looked slightly better and ran smoother on 360, so I won't argue with that. However, in the last 2 and a half years of it's peak cycle, the PS3 caught up 3rd party wise too, with developers getting a better hang of the overall product but the visual fidelity of what 1st party was offering was better than 3rd party games AND 360 1st party titles and in all honesty, by some distance.

No Mario Kart doesn't count.

Gran Turismo used to be considered the reference as far as racing games went but it seems Forza has passed it(pun intended).

What says you?

Yes it is...if you haven't played GT 3 and 4, easily the two best racing simulations, on the mainstream anyway. Forza has surpassed in terms of customisation and their racing has been superior to the last couple GTs but they still can't tough the peak of GT...no matter how much I enjoy Forza 3
