[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"] Can this be repair by my own? if so where can i find how to repair it online?soulreaper-4

Well i can't find a vid right now but heres one on how to clean your laser, just follow it to take apart the BD.

Heres what i think it is:

BTW - i swaped my laser and in doing so accidentally knocked both of those off, afterward my ps3 did the same thing as yours so thats why i think this is the problem

Do you think if i continue to use it my games can get damage or scratch?

I think i should give it a try but i'm not too sure because i will lose the warranty. Ah what a problem.

It seems like one of the small spring loaded sensors inside the BD has come off or gotten stuck, if its under warranty send it into sony, its an easy fix so i don't think they'd send you a refurbed ps3

I'm not too sure if i should send my console to Sony, here is my problem: I'm not sure if my disc drive is working right, i can insert games and movies into it and they work just fine but i'd notice that i need to insert the games and movies in certain position, to be clear if i insert a disc too close to the left side it won't enter into the console but if i insert them from the center more to the right side the drive grabs the disc and it enters into it.

One time when i was gonna play certain game when i was inserting the disc the drive grabbed it and it began to enter into the console slower than usual. I wouldn't like to send it to Sony because they can end sending me another system and i will lost many copy protected save files and if this happens i won't play those games anymore.

Is this normal as long as i can insert and play games? My PS3 is one of the first 80gb models without BC.

Whoever said that you cant tell the diffrence between 720 and 1080p, on anything less than 50 in. really needs to have their eyes checked !bussinrounds

You said that because you have an 1080p tv but if you have two tvs side by side one with 720p and one with 1080p it's not going to make a huge difference like when you change from SD to HD. First the 1080p needs to be bigger and you need to sit at certain distance to notice some extra details.

1080p is not worth the money unless is at least a "42 tv set.

[QUOTE="snyguy"]

400$ dollars is worth a PS3

Simulator_Shock

Sorry but not in my book. If the $400 PS3 had backwards capabilities with PS1/PS2 games then I'd say maybe. But since that's not the case, $300 is much more suitable for me.

Dude you should not be so cheap if you want a PS3, it's been in the market for more than two year's in the market and some keep asking for a price drop but they haven't realized that if they continue with this nonsense they all will end buying one when the successor to it became available. Sony already drop the price from $599.99 and $499.99 to $399.99. What more can gamers ask?

It now doesn't have PS2 backward compatibility and doesn't have the SD card slots but it still have a lot more features than the *box. It have Blue Ray player, free online, controllers with rechargeable battery inside them, Wi-Fi, changeable hard drive, Web Browser, some games support 1080P,you can use usb drives as storage devices not like the *box which make you spent $55.00 for a memory card of 512 mb and can use any keyboard you like with it not like the *box.

For me is worth the money and more if you like games.

From your description, I don't think "thats normal". Mine generally accepts discs; blu-rays, games, standard dvd from the middle and rotates at a direction while the PS3 is receiving/taking it.

Scieran
This is my doubt, because is not that i can't insert games, DVD or BlueRays but i have notice that if i insert any kind of media close to the left it wont enter.

Hey my PS3 reads and play games perfectly but i have a doubt, my doubt is that if i try to insert a game into the disc slot close to the left side the disc won't enter or will be difficult to insert but if i insert the discs close to the right side it will enter more easily. It seems like the PS3 only pulls the disc into the console from the right side of the drive.

Is this normal? I have one of those PS3 that have the newer disc drives that makes games enter into it rotating to the left.

Just wondering, I got my PS3 setup with 1080i, but when I play KZ2 it switches to 720p. I did read that KZ2 is better in 720p but why does it do that automatically when my PS3 is setup with 1080i and KZ2 supports 1080i?

snverhallen
Dude 720p is superior to 1080i.
