[QUOTE="soulreaper-4"]

[QUOTE="thetruespin"]sounds like the sensor has gone a little crazy.. you could send it in, or you could just keep using it until it breaks totally... which it might not.Diddies

I called Sony and the person who talk to me said that this kind of problem can be repair without the needing of an exchange and that he was going to send a note to the technician so i can receive my console back and repaired. So i think i should sent it.

Fixed for free? If yes...send it in.

Yeah it's for free because i still have warranty.

Ok here's the problem: since some months ago i've noticed that something is going wrong with my PS3'S Disc drive. Sometimes i have found that is easier to enter games into the Disc drive slot and sometimes i need to pay close attention and make sure I'm inserting them more to the right of the slot because if they are closer to the left they wont go in. At first i taught that it was the way i was inserting the games but yesterday i was going to play and when i was inserting certain game disc only half of the disc entered into the slot, it this this twice.

Should i sent it? Can this be repair withoutthe needing of and exchange?

The story can take 30 to 35 hours. I'd finished the game story mode in 35 hours.

they will format your hdd, and they tell you to backup your game saves. My disk drive died on me and they just replaced the drive and I got my same system back. You will be SOL on some game saves. I had the same issue to but at the end of the day its better to lose saves and have a working ps3, then to save game saves and have a ps3 that will break sooner or later.gagit811
What was the problem with your PS3?

I say as long as the disc goes in, where's the problem? Just keep it in the center. I wouldn't suggest sending it in unless you're absolutely out of luck. They could send you a crappy refurb or something. As far as your saves go, though, the PS3 has a great backup feature that will backup your entire HDD in its current state. I recommend backing it up every so often just in case something ever happens. I'd hate to lose my saves........Nephilim83
I have notice that if i insert the games close to the left the drive doesn't pull the disc to the inside, but if i insert them close to the right they enter into the drive. Does yours do the same?

I really don't like the idea of sending it to Sony, Before this i had a 40gb PS3 that ended with a fried touch panel because a electricity shutdown where i live and sometimes the buttons in the panel didn't work. Then Sony sent me a crappy refurbished with scratches and it was freezing a lot.

I'm not too sure if i should send my console to Sony, here is my problem: I'm not sure if my disc drive is working right, i can insert games and movies into it and they work just fine but i'd notice that i need to insert the games and movies in certain position, to be clear if i insert a disc too close to the left side it won't enter into the console but if i insert them from the center close to the right side the drive grabs the disc and it enters into it.

I wouldn't like to send it to Sony because they can end sending me another system and i will lost many copy protected save files and if this happens i won't play those games anymore.

Is this normal as long as i can insert and play games? My PS3 is one of the first 80gb models without BC.
